"Yes as if the company in question has closed and told you that you are not able to work then it is their duty to pay 80% of your wage " It is 80% of your wage up to a maximum of £2500 gross per month. They don't have to furlough you either they can make you redundant if they want, some big firms are making people redundant | |||

" I'm taking what I can get lol I've only used my days I carried over so far so it's still a lot if I want. I don't disagree it's a sensible thing to do but I've always booked holidays around business needs and I'll continue to do so. But I don't think it is right that a company erodes employment law. Like when most ask you to sign out of of the regulation to start with so they can make you work longer hours than required by law. I probably have more to loose than to argue it but when something else is put down in law to protect your rights I think it's a wrong thing for companies to ask that they you sign a contract to say they can't comply with the law | |||

I think I'd take it if it was only a week But after being furlough it feels a bit like why would ... you can't use one part of the law to line your pockets and ignore the other bit on employment rights. As it's a minimum 3 weeks and it will be very busy when I get back I won't have the time to take holiday without having to work exceptionally hard to do so. Probably what gets my goat is I was working from home busy every day 8-5 with a long list of things to do. So theyve only done it to to get the grants | |||

Now holidays for a week. Still don't know what I'll be doing next week. That's what gets me most. | |||
