"Seem to see a lot of people saying that people should not be out running. We are still running, we stick to the back streets and cross the road or take a very wide berth if we do see anybody. I dare say that there are some who aren't taking precautions but exercise is important both mentally and physically." There's nothing wrong with going for a run on your own or with household members.

Absolutely...gotta look after your health in mind and body,of course it's a lot easier for those living in country areas with woods ..mountains ..open fields and less population etc to do these things

"What you have to remember with all these conspiracy theorists.....there bank accounts are all rather large. Tommy Robinson, case in point. Not a conspiracy nut, just a racist who doesn't actually care about this country. Loves spreading hate because he makes an awful lot on money doing so. David Icke is worth a bit I'd bet, clever business man more than anything." I never thought of it like that.... It amazes me that the religious people believe in Jesus and the second coming but yet the second a person says he is Jesus then they all ridicule him.. or her to be politically correct..

"I was awake last night thinking about this running thread and worrying. It's not the social distancing that worries me but the likelihood of having a fall and nobody finding you. Please take sensible precautions folks. If alone, tell somebody your route and expected time back so the alarm can be raised to the emergency services." Good call Tom.. As when out on the hills pre lockdown..

Whilst the minority seem to be intent on spoiling it for the majority (meeting in parks etc) you are also correct that even if outdoor exercise was stopped, it still wouldn't stop the idiots from carrying on. Have seen groups of kids out & even a BBQ up the road from me with several attending who obviously don't live there in the last couple of days.

Even the government have said you can go out for exercise by yourself or with your household.

"I've got nothing against people going for a run, and I can also understand that gym members have got to find an alternative - it's just that there has been a noticeable explosion in the number of joggers out and about, and the whole point about the 'Stay at home' message is to prevent the spread of this thing and the more self-disciplined we are, the less time we'll have to to do it for." As long as runners observe the distancing,no probs!

"I'm still running regularly and being overtly respectful of social distancing. I'll slow down or stop if I see a situation where it could be considered unsafe. Astonished that people are still letting their dogs off the leash. Runners are nice targets for playful mutts. " Ive had one or two issues with dogs over the years. A kick usually works quite well.

"These times may be trying and I may be starved of contact but at least i broke my 5km pb" Haven't broken any records but last Friday when out for my early morning run I tripped and fell breaking several ribs, was fortunate as the pavement broke my fall when my head hit it, also have bruised cheekbone, black eye, cuts and bruises etc. My present record to beat (P.B.) is to put on a pair of socks in under 10 minutes
