Yes. Our house is on a rat run and next to a school, so since the lockdown there has been a hell of lot less traffic. Every other day I cycle to work and check the post etc, restaurant shut down. There is hardly any traffic, there air is clearer and you can hear the birds singing. It reminds me of how Sundays used to be when I was a kid and all the shops where closed.

There is a clean freshness. A crispness.. living in a big city..it's so quiet..the lack of distance road noise always used to be in the background.. nothing now..

Lets hope though that climate change deniers do not see this as an opportunity to say that there is no need for change as it can be done in a matter of months.

There will be a time when it will be to late to cut all types of pollution once we are over the tipping point.

It is shown now that we can change it and kind of know it could be a solution to the problem. I think that having a curfew month every would help too and the leaders should look into the possibility to have it.

The air is clean where I am anyway but I've noticed more sounds with less traffic, I can really hear the birds and the lambs and sheep, I'm loving it, apart from the Cockerel grr.

Yeh, but the air is coming from Europe. I don't recommend breathing that air no matter how fresh it seems.

must admit there are more bugs on the windscreen these days because the polutuion is reduced and nature is getting a break.

The trouble will be when they say the lockdown is over as people will rush out and jump in cars busses ect and all head for the beauty spots and run riot.

The air outside is certainly smelling cleaner and sweeter.

Sadly some of these forums, particularly covid, are smelling of much more BS!

Agree. Feels cleaner. Also not living too far from Heathrow we are enjoying the peace from constant aircraft noises, we didn’t realise it had become so bad until this forced break and hardly any aircraft going over. We’re not even that old and reminds us of childhood when you’d her the odd plane or even concord

I live in a village so it’s not so bad normally anyway.

What I have noticed is the peace and quiet as normally you can hear the cars drive through the village from some way off.

The Dawn chorus seems louder than usual. It’s lovely.
