Does anybody think that China should pay for the global pandemic caused by the Chinese who have desperately tried to cover up their actions? World wide trade sanctioms if they don't?

What's the evidence for this accusation?

What would sanctions achieve?

The Chinese doctor who blew the whistle and the Chinese government made him sign a declaration form of confidentiality and the doctor notified his colleagues stating this before he died from COVID 19,and the Chinese tried to cover this up, this has cost countries serious monies hundreds of billions and trillions and a lot of businesses facing bankruptcy, why should these countries pay for this pandemic blatantly obviously caused by the Chinese

Sanctions would only hurt the people and have little effect on the government.

Absolutely, yes. However I'm prepared to bet reparations will not be forthcoming.

What difference has this alleged failed cover up done to the amount one money this has cost?

Even assuming what you say is correct. They China didn't "cause" the pandemic.

And if we were to go down this route. We're setting a president to put sanctions or punishments on other countries for their actions with economic consequences (if even this is the case), what next, everyone in the EU doing the same to the UK for the Brexit damage. Or America doing it to Saudia Arabia for dropping oil prices? Etc etc. This proposal of yours falls down pretty quickly.

Let's get this straight, there was no 'alleged' coverup, the coverup is well documented, as is the subsequent death of the aforementioned, previously healthy, 35 year old Doctor (what a surprise).

Trump will probably end up pushing the button on China anyway, regardless.

"Who caused the COVID 19 virus then? "

No person "caused" the virus.

A virus is a submicroscopic infectious agent that replicates only inside the living cells of an organism. Viruses occur naturally.

Hope this helps.

I think there will be pressure on China after things settle down a bit, sanctions, strong words and the like. How much of an effect this will have is debatable, China is too big an economy and Western countries rely on its manufacturing output too much.

China should pay reparations for this. However I doubt they will. And yes we would be justified in sanctioning them. However we probably wont

Their food hygiene standards fall woefully short (this is not the first time this has happened in china) and the cover up is well documented

What about the US senators who knew about the coming pandemic, told everyone things were fine, then used the time to dump stock.

Why were the first COVID-19 death announcements in the UK made so late. Did it give Boris's rich mates time to dump their stock before the markets panicked.

Bear in mind that anyone who got out then can now rebuy that stock for next to nothing.

Be careful asking for something albeit not achievable Lest a wopping big reparations bill come heading our way for the actions of the empire..

China are sending ventilators and some medical staff to other countries..

This is a global pandemic and as such it needs everyone to try and pull together to try and stop it, not tear each other apart..

There's already been attacks in this country by fuckwits, a student from Singapore was beaten up!

Respect your not saying anything about such things but once a campaign kicks off every scumbag racist will be wanting to show how they're doing their bit by hitting someone who looks Chinese..

Do you think Johnson, Trump er al should pay for their lack of action and for trying to protect the financial interests of their mates and colleagues, causing the death of numerous people who would have otherwise not caught the virus? Or are you just being a racist?

China being the most populous country in the world means that there is a higher chance of an infectious disease jumping from other animals to humans than in smaller countries. This is because there are more human hosts for novel viruses to infect. You would therefore expect novel diseases to arise in China more often than any other country just by chance.

Seems to be impossible to have a sensible conversation about the government in China

Accusations of racism = end of discussion for me

No one has said anything about racism except you.

And you haven't made any points about the Chinese government. Just some confused ramblings about a virus being the fault of a nations state. Then ignored information that's been posted.

All your post has done is highlight your confusion and lack of understanding about viruses, and world politics.

Maybe have a think about what you're angry about, and start the conversation with that.

Hopefully it's some kind of double key thing. Like in a bond movie. And someone with half a brain has the other key.
