FabSwingers.com forum: Keeping Parents indoors?

Anyone else having trouble keeping there parents indoors? Mine are a nightmare...

'But I always buy a paper'

'No I can't ask your brother' (who is only 5 miles away)

'But its only 1 friend I was meeting up with for the day'

When I asked my Mum if we gave her this much trouble as kids she smiled ( well I think so was on the phone) and said, 'No I wouldn't stand for it'!

Ye Gods...parents!!!

( I should add I live a 3 hour drive from them)

My parents live In an isolated place in turkey, they are ok.

I did have a problem with my father who is 93, he took quite a bit of persuading to stay home. He has realised now that he has to and the consequences of bringing the virus home to my mother.

I don't know how old your parents are op

72 and 73 but my Dad is more vulnerable as he had cancer a few years ago...they know the risks they are taking and they are adults (apparently!)

My mum is firmly staying put as instructed. However I live 90 minutes away and have to go tomorrow to do her shopping and banking, but I won't go in her house. Just wave from the path

My mother in law 76, (diabetic with a heart condition), was very blase about it all until her grandson who lives near her got symptoms so had to self isolate along with his wife and 2 young children.

My neighbour 3 doors down from me passed away today form covid, however he had underlying health conditions. However he was only 62. I do believe he wouldn’t of died without this virus

I think that's the point, they are adults and must make their own decisions a bit like they had to say about us years ago

. It must be quite difficult to have your children telling you what to do but I find myself doing it more and more
