There waiting to get them fixed maybe , how many stores do they have ? You can’t just say I want 20 screens in every store and it happens overnight.

Speaking to the guy in Sainsbury’s yesterday. They have been waiting on screens for days due to unprecedented demand.

They have to be purpose built to fit the till type so I’m guessing it’s taking a while.

The poor supermarket workers are unsung heroes in my opinion they are getting bombarded with germs just like the NHS workers

ALDI, LIDL and I think Morissons have done so.

No sanitising facilities at ASDA yet Sainsbury's will clean your trolly for you.

It is disgusting that only ALDI had the thought of its own staff at the beginning.

Where there's blame solicitors will have a field day when this is over. HSE rules still prevail and clear in the statement - an employer is responsible for safety of those workin for them.

It is not only to protect them, it is to protect customers.

Call manager and explain that you longer will visit until they are in place..

Let's put matters into the real world.

Supermarkets across all the major groups couldn't put in screens and other protective measures all in one week let alone overnight.

Supermarkets I've been to in my local area, have screens installed, or they're planned for installation through this week.

It takes time to roll out the process across each group. Think more positively they're doing something rather than nothing.

ASDA York has sanitising stuff for trolleys etc!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mine have screens in place. Unfortunately these take time to custom build and install. Yes the staff are at risk slightly more in places they don't have them, no it isn't possible to mitigate all risk. The other option would be to close the supermarkets untill all screens are built and in place and all staff have secured an adequate supply of PPE.

Can't speak for Tesco but our Lidl has screens at all the tills and all staff have full face visors. They're also managing number of people entering the store

Shhhhh stop being sensible .

I spoke to a worker who knew nothing about them. I suggested they watched the Tesco advert and then ask their bosses when they plan to get them.

They had them in Aldi around the corner.

If they had to close till they got them I suspect they'd be done by now

It will be interesting (post C19) to see if employees will be able to claim against employers (including NHS) for not supplying the recommended safety equipment

Morrisons are donating £10m worth of food to Foodbanks. The other chains haven't publicly said what they're doing likewise.
