"Hi you lovely people over the water , were thinking of our holiday of a lifetime next year and considering NO for the festival , any advice on clubs and the festival itself ,dos and donts would be very welcomed ,many thanks and play safe ,john and Lou xxxxx "
If you do pick New Orleans for Mardi Gras Start planning now. Make reservations! Plan your days and nights, I would recommend an bed and breakfast in the French Quarter here are a few, Inn on Ursulines, Hotel Royal, (' ') Gentry House, Lanaux Mansion. there's a must try restaurant in walking distance from from the BNB's, Port-of-Call (' ') 838-Esplanade Ave, New Orleans, LA 70116 portofcallnola.com.
I will warn you though!!! when walking through the FQ or at Mardi Graw do not get dressed up unless in costume and do not wear jewelry, good wristwatch, Rings, and keep cash "just what you need for one night" in separate pockets, & separate the $20 and $100 don't flash! I keep a couple of $5 on top each roll. I don't want to scare you just prepare you.
From Wednesday 2/7/2018 a week before Fat Tuesday the official day 2/13/2018 of Mardi Graw most of the business that do not profit shut down. M.G. is a big deal in New Orleans lots of people lots of partying lots of cosplay ('')
There's a lot more to New Orleans and metro area Museums, Casino, Restaurants, Clubs.
If you do decide I would recommend getting to know some people or another couple that can meet ya'll there always better in numbers. If you want to know more just ask.
