Hi there first off please don't think I'm a penny pincher as I'm not, so I'm going to NY and I've been doing research and I've came to learn that you practically have to tip everything over there at least 18%

Now I have no problems in tipping for good service but I've read stories like people only leaving 10% and getting abuse of the waiters? I'm happy to tip for good service but apparently you too regardless which I feel is unfair if you receive crap service, could by one let me know more about this and possible put me at ease, right now I'm actually afraid to eat out
