There's no need to be scared, it's unlikely Russia would launch an attack on any Nato country especially a nuclear attack.

Even if he is mad, his staff know that the minute they launch a nuke there will be hundreds on their way to Moscow

If you're still worried then you should know that Morcombe is far enough North of London to be ok anyway

Putin has learnt from Ukraine that 500 light tanks are no match for 1000 javelin missiles. Sad though it is, the mess the Russian army are in in Ukaraine has shown them that any attempt to take on the west will fail dismally.

You don't think there's a chance that Putin is trying to lul everyone into a sense of false security?

No I don't think so. He is controlling the message in Russia using everything at his command as he is shit scared of the truth.

However, one day the truth will creep out and he will be seen to have lost because his huge army was not able to overwhelm a much smaller army. All he could do is destroy civilian targets using long distance weapons, in many instances, fired from inside Russia and Belarus.

Why are you scared?

Putin will finish Ukraine ensuring everything is destroyed plus no government remains and leave once complete.

Known as a hero for Russia and China who both have large support for what he is doing.

Give it a few years the west will start trade again and all is almost forgotten.

I think the unexpected failure and the unity of the West has knocked the wind out of his sails. We see this on the shift in tactics and focus to what now seem more realistic expectations for him. Now we know he doesn't like to lose face and losing face is a potential risk to him. So I get the fear frustration and an willingness to win at any cost may bring. But at the moment to me he's not looking like a cornered bear we feared. He's looking battered and worn. I think we've over estimated his wrath and our fear has continued to encourage him. We have to step carefully but I think we need to apply pressure and keep it up.

I don't think he ever intended on capturing the whole of Ukraine. He sent those poor conscripts in the north and into the west of the country to tie up the Ukrainian forces so he could concentrate on the Donbass and slBlack Sea coast. Sacrificial pawns in his grand game.

Maybe. Intentional or not it a great angle Putin can push to save some face I suppose. But when you consider the volume of loss of Russia hardware (including highly sensitive hardware), lives and that they've been made to look rubbish I find it hard to believe it was just a distraction and expected loss. If so it just a completely wasteful and demoralising distraction for very little gain. Either way it displays a real weakness in the leadership and capabilities of the Russian army. I think there has been a huge miscalculation by the West and Putin as to the abilities of the Russian armed forces. Russia has invested heavily in big ticket military hardware but failed to invest in their service personnel and it shows.

I don't think he expected to loose so much hardware, it was just the way they parked that huge armoured coloumn up for days doing nothing that made me think. Its hard to figure out exactly what's whats from an outside perspective, there is so much propaganda flying about on both sides.
