Bravo to Joe for signing an EO to reunite the kids at the border with their families. The kids were denied entry into the US because they tried to cross into a America illegally and not at a formal point of immigration or checkpoint. Now, does anyone know how this works specifically?

Will this EO implore the parents of said kids to be parents and finally come and claim their kids? I’m sure at any time since the Obama administration began keeping these kids fed and clothed who were abandoned at the border (in random places, not at checkpoints) that the parents could have claimed them and taken them home from the facilities they were transported to. Maybe the parents made it over the dry river bed and never looked back? Will this EO inspire them to be parents and go and claim their kids? Is it possible that being “undocumented immigrants” makes it impossible to find little Johnny’s dad in Texas?

Wouldn’t it be simpler with an immigration policy that formalized things? Wouldn’t you say, use something to indicate where that formal process begins, like a border checkpoint? Wouldn’t that checkpoint be where the documentation process would begin, so that both sides know that little Johnny and Dad are a family? How do they know where the checkpoint is if there isn’t a wall or a fence or a bridge on a river?

Imagine when a cruise ship pulls into port if anyone could simply step off the pier onto the deck, and step off again the next time it pulls into port. It’s smart of them to track who comes on and off, and even smarter that they use a formal checkpoint to do that.

Well you just opened up the can of common sense. I’ll simplify that notion even further. Anyone who does not feel that there should be said check points should be removing their locks from their homes and even vehicles. The most insane fact is that when the previous administration was ridiculed for detaining children and yet the media went silent when it was determined that the data and “facts” were from 2015.
