Outdoor Fun Warning

Newcastle,

Hi Everyone,

It's my first time posting to the forum but I thought I'd give a warning for all those like me who like the occasional bit of outdoor fun. Horse flies are in abundance this year and I've had a couple of nasty bites off them, they prefer sunlight compared to dark and shaded areas and are common around grassy areas ponds lakes etc.

Use a cold cloth or compress to reduce the itch and swelling if bitten (it really does help)

They can get easily infected if scratched and the best advice is see your gp or local pharmacist if any show signs of infection.

Not exactly the most thrilling and exciting post but I hope it's useful.
