All hotels are come and go as you please ,stick to the holidayinn ,travel lodge,hilton,premieringpremierinn, daysinn type hotels though the smaller cheaper hotels tend to have receptions at the entrance and know all their paying guests

Premier Inn by the station in Chelmsford. Reception is upstairs so you can get in the loft or take the stairs in the foyer no problem
