Head towards the northern quarter, brilliant night out round there all bars very close together good atmosphere and decent music wouldn't like to recommend any in particular as the majority are very good.

Ad mentioned, the Northern Quarter is a cool place, great buzz to be had. Also check TripAdvisor and Manchester Confidential for some hints and tips. Depending how in depth you want to be.

canal street is a good night out definitely see some sight especially if the weather is good. There is a big gay community there and for years the C on canal street was rubbed off

ps Seem to think they have live music on Fridays ,not sure as we are mainly saturdayers lol
