Depends on what you are looking for.

It's a very multicultural town with a very high Asian population. It is very much a northern working town being an old mill and textile area. Quite close to Wakefield (bigger city with lots of night life) and Leeds within 30 mins.

Countryside is easily reached and the area is accessible by both the M62 and M1 not far away.

For me I would not want to live in the centre (but I am a country bumpkin) but in one of the satalite villages around the area.

Nearby towns and villages are much nicer than Dewsbury itself.

But good motorway links and close to nice countryside which is a bonus.

If you are going to be working around Dewsbury,I'd be looking to live in areas between Dewsbury and Huddersfield. Places like Lepton,Mirfield,Emley. It all depends on what your looking for

Urban living,or out in the sticks living.

A 3 day town....I used to live they call it the Islam repulica capital.I could say alot

There's no full time jobs for the ordinary white man...

There was once a swingers club but was closed down due to the mosque on its doorstep.

There was one going to open also near the market don't think it ever come off.

It's got a gay/bi sauna house....

been closed 5years asnt it I was there when they boarded it up lol it was so sad lol it was a downward spiral for the town sorry DEWSBURY...

I am loling at this thread.

Ive lived in Dewsbury all my life and LOVE it. Assuming that youre moving from the south you'll be able to afford better housing... so yes the surrounding areas are better... but like anywhere theres good and bad wherever you go.
