Don't camp at the bottom of a hill.

Don't camp near the Pyramid Stage.

Check your valuables into the free storage facilities.

Use the toilets in the Kidz Field!

Don't expect to have a spiritual moment at the Stone Circle.

Use the power lines as a guide if you get lost.

Buy a decent trolley.

Take wellies/walking boots AND trainers.

Do your research so you end up near an entrance as close to where you want to camp as possible, the place is fucking huge!

Take wet wipes, lots of wet wipes.

Don't take toilet roll, it's free at the valuables lock-ups.

The best value food is at the Tor Rugby Club place.

Don't spend all weekend in front of the Pyramid/Other stages.

Don't be a chair wanker if you're near the front.

Set your tent up before getting twatted, or at least half up!

Get your wristband put on the opposite wrist to the one that the hand you wipe your arse is on!

Don't get that d*unk that you lose your specs, your phone and a very expensive pair of Oakleys when you get stuck in the mud and fall over...

Get there on the Wednesday, the place is far more fun and chilled out on Wednesday and Thursday before the bands start on the main stages on Friday.

Don't bother queuing for the showers near the Kidz Field, you'll waste half your weekend.

Don't bother showering, full stop...or washing for that matter. Wet wipes and a toothbrush is all you need.

This is excellent advice. I've been loads of times and I'm taking some of this on board lol. I always camp near the pyramid stage though. Only thing i do different in easy of advice is. I take a 2 litre water bottle and fill it daily to wash with. Cold mind. I also take a few empty big margarine tubs to pee in if i get caught short in the night in the tent.

I find the south park 2 is the best camp site bit if a steep hill but if you camp right its quiet.. ish on the night amazing view and short walk to every thing.. no fear of flooding I survived last year though my wellies did not :/

Dont be afraid to take your own drinks as long as its not in glass your fine

Camel packs are life savers

Always have a meeting point

Apps are avalible to locate feiends at the site

Extra phone battery if you can

I find a touch of vics rub and a cheep face makes makes the long drop bearable (best time is around 5am when they are cleaned

Get to your show earlier than you think

Explore as much as you can

Make life long friends for 5 min

Have fun

Yeah last year we managed to find a space at the top of the hill in South Park 2 for our eight man tent, then found we were blocking the fire lane so had to move to South Park 1. Both great campsites though that are close to main areas but are quiet at night. And the view from South Park 2 is amazing; that's when I first realised how fucking enormous Glasto is

"So how much money do u guys think u'll need for 5 nites camping at glasto? "

All of it.

Bring lots of protein bars and fruit for snacks/energy. Bring booze.

Bring a decent refillable water bottle.

Bring a sack truck for car/campsite travel. It can be quite a journey!

Just buying food... £20/30 a day for three decent meals, not including treats.

Buying alcohol... The rest of your money.

"Anymore glasto tips? "

In addition to the other things mentioned....

Pack your stuff into a big plastic box - useful as bedside table and fits onto sack trucks easily. take roll of clingfilm to Attach stuff to trucks and store trucks in lock up.

Take travel johns - useful if you're too hungover to make early morning trip to loo!

I always take fruit juices and make premixed vodka 'cocktail' to take out in little plastic bottles. Saves a fortune and lighter than cans of booze to carry.

We also like our camping comforts so our group takes shower and shower tent, camping gas cooker (for teas / coffee and heating shower water!!!!) and pillows.........

I'm not going this year but I work for Small World in the Green Futures field. Check it out, loads of awesome acts and all run off less energy than a kettle!

I HIGHLY recommend going and hanging out (literally) at Lost Horizons sauna up by the teepee field (get a weekend wristband, you will want to go back there) and have sauna washes rather than queuing for the showers.

When it comes to toilets, go for the long drops rather than the "cattle troughs" they are a hell of a lot cleaner and no risk of splashback (yes, I've had this happen )

ALWAYS have water on you, it's too easy to get dehydrated and feel like crap.

Provisions are fooking expensive so bring 3x more baccy/rizlas/lighters than you think you will need and if you need to get cash out try and do it in the 6am-8am period when queues are non existent.

Don't bring too many clothes. A lightweight mac in case it rains, a daytime and a night-time (warm) outfit is all you need but DON'T scrimp on socks, they are essential and bring good sturdy boots.

" Donate your tent when you leave."

That doesn't mean leave it pitched in a campsite.... if it's a decent tent someone from crew will "tat" it (I.e claim it after public have gone home- standard festival practice) and if not it will get shredded - there are too many tents that get left for site officials to process what's good and what's ruined so they all get flattened and shredded

Oh... the other thing... there is a really gorgeous little spot up by the stone circle... if you stand at the bottom of the field and look up the hill to the left is a wooded area, head up towards the top of it and there's a little pathway which leads to the dragon. Lovely place to escape the hectic for 10min or so

We've donated (properly) a few over the years, usually pop-up one's that we've used as storage/fridge/larder!

I am working there for the fith year. So I get load of room for my tent, hot daily showers, clean toilets and free food and beer.

I would hate to be out there with the rest of you

Ha ha ha

When I did go as a punter, I had a shopping bag a day with clean clothes in and baby wipes. Start every day dry clean and smelling like a baby.

If anyone want to meet up I would love to hear from them. I have had a few meets over the years. Only with glampers tho, no offfence to the beautiful sexy people camping.

Free ones are up the hill by the farmhouse. Ones that charge are located other side of the railway tracks bottom of Pennard's Hill. OR withdraw your money before hand and leave it in the free lock ups and take out what you need each day

IMPORTANT INFO FOR GLASTONBURY

FESTIVAL 2017 TICKET HOLDERS

JUNE 5, 2017

malerpicsa

Hello! It’s now just over two weeks until Glastonbury 2017 begins here on Worthy Farm. Preparations are in full swing, and we’re all incredibly excited.

If you have a ticket, then no doubt your mind is starting to turn to how you’ll get here and what you’ll bring, so we wanted to update you with some extra information about entrance to this year’s Festival, in light of the recent tragic events in Manchester and London.

As always, we have put in place all necessary measures to maximise public safety, working closely with the authorities. But Festival goers can also play their part in keeping Glastonbury safe and secure, so we’d very much appreciate it if you’d read and digest this message.

PLEASE PACK LIGHT

First up, we encourage you to pack as light as you can. For security reasons, all ticket holders will be subject to extra searches of their vehicles, their bags and their person at this year’s Festival.

This will make entrance slower than in previous years. Please be patient if there are queues, and please cooperate with any security requests and all searches.

We do appreciate that you’re going to be staying on the farm for several days, but the less you bring, the quicker you’ll get through the gates. As a general rule, we would ask you to only bring as much as you can carry yourself. It really will make things quicker.

There will be separate search lanes for those with large luggage and trolleys, and we anticipate that these lanes will be significantly slower. So, please think: do you really need that camping chair? Can you manage without that extra food and drink? Remember, you can buy pretty much anything you need here on site.

We would also ask you to put luggage tags on all of your bags and belongings with your name and mobile number, so that we can identify them as yours.

Also, please do not wrap your bags / kit in the thick plastic wrap you sometimes see at airports. Your bags will need to be accessible for searches.

If you’re driving and you really do need to bring more than you can carry, then we would advise you to make separate trips to your vehicle, by exiting and re-entering (just make sure you hold on to your ticket and pass out to do this).

There will be plenty of staff and police around, so if you have any queries or concerns, please don’t hesitate to speak to them.

PLANNING YOUR JOURNEY

As in previous years, the car parks will open at 9pm on the Tuesday night (June 20th) before gates open. Festival gates will then open at 8am on Wednesday morning (June 21st). There will, however, be no entertainment or facilities in the car parks and Festival goers will be expected to remain in their cars until the Festival gates open.

In the past few years, the vast majority of Festival goers have chosen to arrive on the Wednesday, so we anticipate that security queues into the event will be at their longest on that day (June 21st).

If you would prefer quicker access to the site, then we would suggest arriving on Thursday (June 22nd) or Friday (June 23rd), when queues are likely to be considerably smaller.

Sadly no. We are glamping in the love fields. It will cost you £100 to have a pass

Take a roll of kitchen foil...use it to wrap hot food from the stalls so you can take it away to wherever you want to eat it.
