Hi guys I sell mattresses for a living, just woundering if any of you guys have had any awful sleeps or since buying a memory foam mattress as a lot of customers seem to get bad reviews from of other people?

I have a ViscoPro one, it's awesome but developed slouch and some ripping, mostly because you can't rotate or anything.

we bought ours about 11 years ago its fantastic can still put a glass of water on it and it dont move if you get onthe bed paid about £800 for it at the time it was a sale in benidorm was £1500 normal price.

but we bought daughter one about 2 years ago and now she needs a new one. so i say some are better than others.

I have just bought one of their best buys.

Silentnight 3 Zone Memory foam, double size.

Delivered by Asda, £149.00

Came rolled up in a bag.

You have to unroll it, and leave it to settle, and for the "smell" to clear.

Seems quite comfy, but not slept overnight on it.

I find them dull and lifeless, not a good sleeping experience, I imagine like being stuck in quicksand. A quality spring mattress gives back to you, supporting where needed unlike lieing in the dead hole in memory foam.

I suffer with lower back pain ... so I have a sprung orthopedic bed .... with very firm pillows .

I need by spine in alignment ..ive never tried a memory foam mattress .... but they dont appeal at all ...

we bought ours about 14 years ago, its still as good as the day we bought it. can stand a glass of water on the bed sit down on the bed and it wont move.

but 2 years ago we bought our daughter one. she needs a new one already. just think they making cheap ones now.

I bought an orthopedic one last year total disaster I just sank into the matress and woke up stiff and in pain every morning for 6wks shop didn't take it back in spite of assuring me at the time that it was the right one for me I ended up moving it into spare room bought a different type of memory foam equally disastrous it doesn't spring back Into shape and after 6mths use its lumpy expensive mistake to make when you can't test the beds before buying

Best bet is to buy the dual version-memory foam/pocket sprung.This is because just memory foam do tend to run very hot !

I had a memory foam one a few years back.

Possibly the worst time of my life, I sleep on my side and after two weeks developed an awful pain on the side I was sleeping on.

Now it's a normal sprung mattress for me

Had a water bed for years.... I loved it best slept i ever had, ex didn't like it that much . It was one of the earlier ones so baffles weren't the same technology as today's. ..she didn't like the little movements when she or I rolled over....i loved it.

Had a memory foam for two years...i found I sweated with it even with an overlay. It was comfortable but I sometimes ended with lower back pain so got rid of it and now have a orthopaedic sprung matress last 6 yrs. ..still like new.

Some of you guys need to change your mattess memory foam or not ...

After 5 years it's not hygienic or healthy anymore ..it be full of mites dead skin etc etc etc .....

I bought a memory foam matress about 10yrs ago, it is a 12 inch thick one double sided one firm one softer,

It took about a week to get used to it and the smell to leave it, but we would not do without it now for sleeping or shagging,

I think you will find a lot of people buying toppers and thinking they have memory foam which is a big difference as the topper just mimics the mattress it rests on.

I bought mine on ebay and was dubious initially but it is the best buy we ever got no back problems or roll too even after 10 yrs, there are many poor manufacturers of all items but a good one and a definately thick one is important one below 10 inch cannot do the job properly(cocks as well I wish)

No: they are terrible;

Though the memory allows the mattress to fit your body; that same fit then restricts your movement; do that the natural movements of your body as you sleep don't happen; which induces joint aches and stiffness.

The only way is to get a really high quality pocket spring mattress with a high spring count, and quality covering. And selected for your body weight.

We have had a waterbed for 20 yrs, we have changed it 3 times as they do loose their flex Ines and stiffen over time.

We are going to change to memory foam/octet spring hybrid soon. But would recommend waterbeds on cost as they are cheap

we bought a tempur one a few months ago and it was awesome but we have to rotate it every month and can't have a lie in as it starts to sag and hurt my back after a few hours but the Mrs loves it. it was £700 in a sale

Hi everyone, I have a Tempur too, great for sleeping but it's a little soft for your knees, and tend to sink after 10 mins, I had a different one before that that was a little firmer, but the foam split at the sides.

I've got a memory foam/pocket-sprung hybrid. I've had some lovely sleeps on mine (however, that is in comparison to a much older mattress).

I think where a lot of people go wrong is how hard or soft the mattress they buy, is. Seems to be that when people hear 'memory foam' they think you should sink down right into it... but that isn't really the case. It really should provide support, too.

Of course depends on your build/weight too! If curious, try the free Bensons for Beds Comfort Station. Helps you deel the difference

We had a memory foam mattress and it was brilliant, so comfy and eased my painful joints.

When we replaced it the one we bought was ok but soon sagged.

We now have an ordinary sprung one with an extra thick layer of memory foam and its brilliant. So comfy and eases my pain again

This! I got my first ever memory foam mattress about 2 weeks ago and its so hot and awful, I wake up and my whole body is wet and sweaty! And not in a good way! Bloody thing, am so disapointed lol x

Have had ours for 10 years. It's very comfy and just the right amount of support. Downside are it's very thick so hard to keep fitted sheets on, and in warm weather I sweat buckets on it. I stay in hotels a lot and never sweat on normal mattresses. I believe modern ones can have holes in for airflow.

I think people are buying either cheap copies or dear forgeries as ours is two sided one firm one slightly softer both so comfy, durable and def not sweaty it has moved house 6 times with us and is really heavy but worth all the trouble and great for sex on
