OK, going to be real controversial here.

As this social is going to attract loads of people, given that many will have had a great time last time and others will have heard about it. And that the venue can also hold only so many people.

Should the guest list be restricted, at least at first, to members of Fabswingers ? If not, you could have a situation (exaggerated I know) where someone says, "please put me down and can 50 of my friends come along?" Obviously down to the organisers to decide this, but worth considering before the actual list is put on the forum.

As this social is going to attract loads of people, given that many will have had a great time last time and others will have heard about it. And that the venue can also hold only so many people.

Should the guest list be restricted, at least at first, to members of Fabswingers ? If not, you could have a situation (exaggerated I know) where someone says, "please put me down and can 50 of my friends come along?" Obviously down to the organisers to decide this, but worth considering before the actual list is put on the forum."

exactly this.... i absolutely agree....

if this is the case... this is not the type of "fab social" i will be going to.....

I won't be going to anymore newcastle socials for the forseeable future......

Hotel booked. Haven't quite worked out the logistics of what else we have on, babysitters, getting there, getting into town, etc but can't lose a bargain of £38 for a room. Last couple we've been to we've left it later and paid well over £100 for average rooms in the city centre.
