AFTER THE SUCCESS OF THE SUMMER AND WINTER NEWCASTLE SOCIALS,WE ARE NOW LOOKING FOR ANOTHER DATE TO SUIT YOU ALL,THE DATE WE WERE LOOKING AT WAS SATURDAY 26TH MARCH,,,BUT THIS IS THE EASTER HOLIDAY WEEKEND AND AFEW OF YOU MIGHT BE AWAY,SO ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE RECEIVED ON A BETTER DATE IF WANTED,ALSO ANYWAY WE CAN MAKE THE NIGHT BETTER FOR EVERYONE WILL ALSO BE GRATEFUL,WE DO HAVE AFEW IDEAS OF OUR OWN THAT WE ARE LOOKING INTO NOW, ( SOMETHING SPECIAL BETWEEN 9PM TILL 9.30PM )ALSO NAME TAGS ARE BEING LOOKED INTO,SPECIAL THANK YOU TO THE 300 THAT TURNED UP AND ALSO EVERYONE THAT MESSAGED SAYING THEY COULDNT MAKE IT,IT MEANT THAT WE COULD KEEP THE LIST UPDATED BETTER FOR ALL TO SEE,WE WILL WAIT TO HEAR FROM ANYONE THAT POSTS IN HERE XXX JUNE AND STEVE

The venue was awesome!!!!! Having the two floors meant those who weren't into the dancing side could sit downstairs and chill, chat etc. I personally couldn't fault it. And I think the general consensus was that of the same . Plenty of room to mingle . Name tags of fab profile names is a great idea , trying to recognise people from their profile pics is difficult when there are so many hotties.

What about something at the start like an ice breaker game, like speed dating but swinging instead. We all move around each couple have a one minute chat then move on. (May not work with 300 people in the same room but would be fun trying )

Or a human raffle!!!! I for one would raffle myself out to couples

Same venue it was great plenty of space. Valentine's weekend would be great mind you we could do Easter as well but not the week after Easter we are away celebrating my 50th birthday (sadly MissK). Hopefully it will be a date we can make we'd hate to miss out

Sorry to divert people's attention... if you can please take a look at the previous thread. I have raised some serious concerns. That I feel need to be addressed going forward into the next 'orgy' AHEM I mean 'social

MissK has already been injured due to a 'slippery wet floor' in the ladies toilets... we should all come up with a solution so the same mistakes are not repeated again!!

Or at least have a 'two way' mirror for all our safety

We cant do the 12 march my daughter is getting married. The Feb date would be good or the end of march. As for suggestions we could do a theme night, dress up kinda of thing. And name tags are a great idea. I found myself nearly breaking my neck looking around to try and recognise people. I did say to Gary that if everyone had no clothes I might know who they are !!!!!! Hahaha xx

great night these guys did to organise this event and 2 ppl have to spoil for t rest of us bye saying what they have said that she was assaulted wen they cant hold their hand up as they were arguing amongst them self's they got no shame totally gutted xxx

They are saying that the lady was assaulted. But everyone that seen said they argued amongst themselves.now she is coming up with the story that she was assaulted so they dont look bad about getting thrown out the venue,her husband ripped her cat suit and broke her zip and they started to argue and show themselves up,so this is her way of trying to save face,xxx sorry but we did our best

Gutted we are all suffering because of it. Surely it's not the organisers fault at all. After all you did for us all to make it a night to remember . Or even the venues. !!!!! Like you say 298 people had a blast let's leave it at 298 for the next one !!!!

I'm really disappointed to hear this news just because of one particular couple who are new to the scene and have ruined it for my friends June and Steve who put in a lot of their free time and effort to organised a fantastic famous Newcastle social.

Also for my regular clubf goers and all my fab friends. I wasn't able to attend the last one due to family commitments. I'm disappointed for all my fab friends who attend the social how upset they must feel to hear the sad news of no more socials.

I was made to feel very welcome and had a fantastic night.

Adam took the man away and I stood in front of the lady until FOUR security men came and I left it to them. They took the man out and looked after the lady.

How much truth can there be in the allegation as if it's an assault then the police would be involved. It's not the first we've seen or heard of a fracas at a social but that's another story. The couple in question are posting pics for all to see in the update section so is it not just a storm in a tea cup scenario?.They are hardly keeping a low profile

You can't throw accusations around like they have and not expect a reaction from good honest hardworking people who have spent a lot of time organising something for others. You cannot throw words around like they have and not expect people to question it. It's a sad state of affairs nowadays when they say what they say with no truth or substance or even evidence to back it up. They've made themselves look like dicks now, and still have the brass neck to carry on as normal . Quite sad really when you think about it. If anyone of us had been "assaulted" it would have been dealt with immediately, not displayed on social media etc for sympathy .

J & s. You have handled it all with professionalism and decorum and have not judged until you got all the facts. So well done to you both . Cos I for one would have flipped to the highest degree !!!!! Xx

I have been involved in the swing scene now for many years in clubs in this country and abroad and i must say that you guys put organised a social to be proud of.. 300 people?? Come on no one in the uk has done a social on that scale.. Keep up the good work guys because let me tell u.. Just seen this and im gutted the 14th was my first social and for 1 couple who argued between themselves to then blame someone else for causing this is atrocious hopefully i will get to attend another social (on that note i like the idea of valentines weekend as the saturday 13th is my birthday) june and steve did a fantastic job organising the last one with a great venue and a great guest list (apart from thatcouple) and also made it easier and less nerve racking for me and itis a shame to let 2 people spoil it for the remaining 298 if you do organise another please add me to the guestlist as i will deffo attend any social

However with or without that couple coming forward, the Newcastle socials cannot just end after all the hard work you Steve and June have put in.

This was my 1st social, but I was speaking to people who said they have been to many and always have a good time!!

You have the backing of the venue and everyone who knows you. Even people who just met like me!! Because I know you have massive RESPECT from everyone due to the hard work and dedication you put into making sure the rest of us can have FUN. You take all the headache/stress/drama, which comes with organising such an event!!

I have taken my time to read what everyone has said. Some people are furious and sometimes say things in anger, which we have all done. But something happend at the venue which started out minor between a couple and quickly escalated in the heat of the moment.

Steve and June you really are a professional couple who have handled this situation really well.

Here is the truth and FACTS...

I was there on the stage that night with the couple in question.

Her partner broke the zip on her outfit.

I offered my t-shirt as she was exposed, but she declined.

Then between me and her partner we tried to fix the zip. But it was not working!!

Then I said why don't you go off stage and get chance to sit down so you can sort things out. She refused to move and said she is really upset.

She blamed her partner because not happy then between them two things were getting heated...

So I left them alone to continue dancing with others.

She was still on the stage, but had moved across in the corner where other people were.

Few mins later I heard shouting, seen there was a fight I went to tell staff immediately there is FIGHT get security.

I ran back in and grabbed the guys off to seperate them as already mentioned by another couple above.

From then security dealt with it and did thank me after.

I thought that was the end of it, but now clearly things are still heated so we are having this conversation...

What I would like to say is ladies put yourself in her shoes... she was on the stage her partner broke the zip. She literally completely froze against the wall and was angry at why he did it!! And now I guess it is her way of lashing out...

I am sure if she reads this, she will understand that nobody else is to blame. And I hope she can retract her story about nobody helped etc

Steve has got it right, we can all be supportive as a social community and move forward. If we get angry and all focus that on a person or couple will just escalate things further...

Btw Steve when we 1st started chatting you said Newcastle is the best place in UK for socials... I reckon you have played massive part in that!! Are you going to stop now!?

Totally agree with you Steve, we can move forward, my point was people shouldn't say things that aren't true. But unfortunately that is the world we live in. And I'm the first to admit if I'm wrong apologies if I came across as unforgiving, that wasn't my intention.

As a woman I understand her point of view of being embarrassed etc and i would never want anyone to feel like that. But it was the aftermath that caused the problem. Anyway let's move on from this and enjoy fabswingers for what it is. A way in which to enjoy ourselves!!!! EVERYONE

June & Steve, this was the first social i had been to like so many others, damn good night and damn well organised.

I totally understand that the stupid d*unken antics of these two have made you both feel like you dont wanna organise another event, but please think about the happy antics of the other 297 people who loved it. I think i speak for those people when i say that if you decide to spin your magic again and organise one for valentines then pleeeeeease give me a holler and add me to the list along with maybe 5 guests lol.
