Anyone climbed it? Is it very hard? Want to ride there and climb it and camp nearby a couple of days, could maybe meet there too?

For a moment there I thought this might be some bizarre fantasy about getting it on with the guy who leaked all those CIA secrets.

You are aware that Mt Snowdon has a mountain railway are you not.

Makes getting to the top really easy

I've done it a couple of times. On both occasions gone up via The pyg track and back down via the miners track. Neither are what you would call hard. On. Both occasions I've done up and down in 5hrs which was relatively leisurely.

Good luck with it

I know, my comment about the train was rather tongue in cheek, lol

Not done Snowdon myself but have done Scafel Pike in the Lake District

But then walking and trekking etc aren't really my bag

Worcestershire

If you're heading there for a couple of days be sure to do Tryffan too. Infact, given the choice of only one I'd do Tryffan. The north face route is excellent fun, you have to use your hands as well as your feet to "scramble" up.

Very beautiful it is too

I can almost see Snowdon from my house - it's just a few miles away. It's getting to be a very crowded place with great tracks worn up it. You can see it in the background of some of my profile photos.

Weather for the weekend may be variable - showers and winds possible. For Snowdon - Always - (Always!!!) take extra clothing, weatherproof outers, and good footwear - it may not be a huge mountain but every year people get caught by rapidly changing weather that suddenly sweeps in. It can be a long way back down, in thick cloud or rain!

Do think about the alternatives - we have lots of lovely mountains to spare here, and many of them hardly ever get used....
