telford pub social

Jump to newest

By (user no longer on site) OP

we were out at a local pub last night and venus got talking with the barstaff and owner, who expressed an interest in holding a swinger social at their premesis, probably once a month or so.

no idea what guise this would take, whether it be a purely social thing or with play allowed, but just wondered if there would be the interest from local members.

tbh its something we have been lacking in the area.

We go out a lot in Telford but to be fir there's never anything like that so we would defo be up for it. The trouble is that it's a double edged sword. You want a lot of people to know so more people go, but, that also attracts a lot of idiot single men just out for a lay/cheat/whatever. I wish there was a place in Telford that did a night like this. Best place we seem to find is the Furnaces, but more would be ideal.

Let me know if you do or PM me any places you know of :p C x

the best swing pub socials we have attended have not had single blokes there, unless invited by a couple that are going, as it gets intimidating for some (V felt very intimidated on a few occasions) so if we were able to organise something that would probably be how we would do it.

i am looking into venues.

i have a couple of places in mind.

just got to manage to get to speak with the owners/landlords.

think it would be best to keep them to couples and single fems to begin with, but who knows for the future.

why just couples and single fems?? why cant it be an even number of single fems and singles males?

Good point only invite the ones that have been on meets with couples that attend

because, from socials we have attended in the past, too many single men is intimidating to people, with some not knowking how to behave in public around people that meet for illicit behaviour (things like putting hands up skirts when not invited and so on).

hey, if its not liked, someone else can organise things.

i know we would rather be actually meeting with people than trying to organise something for lots of people to meet others.

didnt say its forever, just said to start with

guys from couples could also do that or even couples together can be intimidating, its not unheard of, maybe vet the single guys, myb the single ladies would like single guys there?

hey no you go for it, but some cynical guys would see it as you wiping out the single guys so there would be more ladies there than guys, just saying haha

"hey no you go for it, but some cynical guys would see it as you wiping out the single guys so there would be more ladies there than guys, just saying haha"

people can look at it how they like.

we have been to socials where there were 'invited' single guys (being those that the organisers actually wanted to, or had, played with) and some of their behaviour wasnt the best.

been to others where single guys attended with arrangements with another couple, so at least they didnt follow other single women, or female halves of couples, around like puppies.

personally, V has refused to attend socials for this very reason, even going out for a simple smoke can lead to a very uncomfortable time.

at least with couples, if one is misbehaving, the partner is usually there to slap them back into line lol

as said, we will try and organise one, that we have found in the past to be the best way to have it, and if people choose to attend then thats fine, if not, then thats fine also.

if they get successful and things need to change, then of course they will, nothing is ever set in stone.

So no good me attending

I am not bi nor do I wish to play with couples. I can make friends anywhere

I sometimes think there are no straight single women on here

This is no criticism to the op though as I accept the point entirely of the behaviour of SOME single men

We personally would enjoy a few guys to attend. Surely if vetted by other couples and females then I can't see a problem. After all that's what socials are supposed to be about.....meeting new people from all areas of the scene.

If it were to be limited to just couples and females not wishing to sound negative, then perhaps we would have to have a rethink.

fine,

have given our reasons for how we would like to organise it, to start with.

as this is not acceptable, we are handing the baton over to those that feel they will be able to organise it to everyones happiness.

please do let us know where and when its going to be.

If we do organize something open to non-idiot single men then count me in. I'd think that people with in-person verifications from current members should be ok, whether couples or singles.

This is why Venusandherculse wanted to organise a social without single men, because once again single men start being pushy even before a social is organised. It would seem that just because a couple swing, single guys think that every married women wants to meet them and have sex with them, this not the case. If this is how you act and think it probably explains why you’re single. We don’t know Venusandherculse but agree with their sentiments wholly .

Its unfair to tarnish all singles with the same brush. Yes agreed there are a minority who spoil it for the vast amount of genuine guys out there.

We have attended a social before where the only singles who can attend have to be vetted by at least on of the couples attending. Only a thought.

Never been to a social event, doubt I ever will.

But to tarnish all single men with the same brush is ludicrous

I've been in chams as a couple and have been approached by over-zealous couples, doesn't mean that I brand all couples the same ?

Sounds like the normal single men bashing again, but hey ho I'm sure I'll sleep at night lol

once again, we will reiterate our position on socials.

we have been to them with single blokes and found the ones that were there pushy, overzelous and a little disconcerting, for V.

the socials we have been to without single men, have been better as there is usually one or the other of them to keep the other in check as it were.

this is the reason we would have wanted to organise the first ones without it turning into a sausagefest.

like we said, if anyone else wants to organise one, then please, by all means, go right ahead.

especially the single guys that feel victimised.
