Hello everyone.

I was to go to Manchester for business in a couple of weeks.

My company wants to book the Sachas Hotel it is close to the Arndale center.

But I have heard some stories that it is a bit of a dump and a hang out for “working girls”.

Does anyone one here have any experience of that hotel.

I’m not looking for a luxury penthouse. A bed and shower will do me and maybe not few many rodents running about ha ha.

Thank you in advance for any advice offered.

Yes the reputation is one of cheap and, well you get what you pay for.

If you are just wanting to bed down and shower then it will suit that purpose and is well located for lots of places to eat etc. so it depends how fussed you are.

As for working girls - I wouldn’t think any hotel in the land is immune to that.

Manchester and Leeds

The place is nuts. You will be freezing as the heating never works, the rooms are awful, and if you are after a peaceful nights sleep then unfortunately it’s not going to happen, with the fights, and ladies of the night, it’s definitely a unique hotel.

Also don’t let them change you to the Britannia near Piccadilly gardens, as it’s exactly the same

I'd encourage you to get them to pay a little bit more and stay somewhere that's got good reviews. There are plenty of different hotels around the city centre, from basic upwards. Britannia is probably a chain for most people to want to avoid.

I stayed there on a weekend 18 months back on a stag do. Wasn’t the best place in the world, but was far from the worst I’ve stayed.

Depends what you want from it I guess. It’s location is the best thing it’s got going for it.

Take a look on TripAdvisor etc. The majority of the reviews are 1 star 'terrible'.

Avoid this really really terrible hotel. Try an appart hotel if the budget stretches plenty of options in Manchester. Also all the premier inns around Manchester are fine.
