Can't say I m surprised by the allegations, he was the perv hiding in plain sight. A younger, next generation version of Jimmy Saville. Expectation of more and more allegations and other celebrities to be embroiled in this circle of mysogyny.

At least the unpicking of the 90's/00's lad culture might encourage more respect for boundaries and caution about power dynamics.

Any of these clown-men, with over exaggerated personalities, just seem like sleaze bags now, and the wild body movements and boundary breaking antics are just a mask to hide their abusive, entitled tendencies.

All the enablers protecting and promoting them, boil my blood.

This is it exactly.

He established a horrible idea of what a "lothario" was supposed to be. He was completely openly breaching consent. This has the potential to make a real dent in a horrible toxic culture. No more "boys will be boys"

It's actually very hard to disagree with one word of your post

He's an absolute creep of an individual. Always has been, hopefully he'll get what's coming to him, I expect more allegations soon.

He's a creep in my book, and there's definitely something of the night about him. That said, I'm not keen on the 'trail by TV' trend, but when you read all the support for Brand it's small wonder victims don't come forward to the Police.

I'd say it's upto the actual hard evidence, the police and courts to decide.

We can all just speculate while the press throw about their accusations and slurs as usual.

I'd rather hear the actual facts.

I have never liked the man, loud and egotistical. However you do have to remember he went full scale against the covid scamdemic, and it wouldn't surprise me if this is somehow connected. Drum roll conspiracy theory

Accusations are one thing and I hope if she has made allegations she has done genuinely.

My thoughts: -

1 - maybe unsurprising, as others have said.

2 - similar to other views, my first thought was ‘let’s wait to see what the case against him looks like’, we all know some individuals will see an opportunity to make money, where celebrity is involved.

But…currently at least 3 individuals have come forward with claims. There were apparently text messages sent and received, and witnesses who allegedly stood by and did nothing (and many years later apologised to the victim). If these pieces of evidence are still recoverable and witnesses are made to provide testimony, then he’ll be doing bird quicker you can say ‘alright, guv’nor, it’s a fair cop’… and that’s just given what we know and assuming no others will come forward with similar claims.

So - while a certain number of acolytes to the church of brand will continue to say that he’s being persecuted by the media, given what we know so far I think this particular false idol is about to come crashing down.

I have never been a fan of RB. I detest some of his past antics, he may well be guilty of these accusations and more.

However, I believe this is a move to silence him. He is obviously obviously right on target with his anti globalists remarks.

While he is most likely a misogynistic twat... an attack on free speech cannot be acceptable.

Not sure I agree that this is a move to silence him, but ok - let’s assume that perhaps someone could be behind the scenes trying to get these people to come forward and tarnish his reputation. Yes, perhaps that might work.

But - it takes a lot of guts for these women to step up and say that a well known celebrity has sexually assaulted or r*ped them. They risk their own reputation, expect to be hounded by press, and have themselves placed in the spotlight for scrutiny by social media.

So for me, given the strength of the claims, it’s less an orchestrated attack, and more likely that he’s a bad egg and has finally gotten what he deserves. But in any case I guess we’ll see.

Just another TV presenter taking advantage. There has been plenty. I personally don't give it the time. Couple of weeks there will be another one. Don't give it tv time. Just tell us how long the sentence is.

As usual, people saying let the courts decide.

Under 1% of reported (insert R word here) lead to prosecution. So actually, let's not let the courts decide.

People can say that if they wish, but I agree with you and not only that, I believe the women on the dispatches programme.

He’s a history of throwing about speculation accusations and slurs without any evidence.. so poetic justice

Likely? A colleague of mine was flying to LA on Virgin to finalise her wedding plans with a guy she'd met from the company we all worked for. Who should be sitting behind her in upper class but Russell Brand. He outright asked her if she wanted to join him as a member of the mile high club. This was at the time when Brand was living with Katy Perry. My colleague politely declined explaining that she was going to LA to get married, but that seemed only to spur him on and he pestered her in his laddish way until he went to the bar and worked on another female. I had no time for Brand before that incident and this only confirmed what an arsehole he is.
