hi noticed lack of swing life in Oxford would anyone be interested in arranging an Oxford Social meet..or is Oxford a lost cause

We'd definitely attend. In fact we were thinking of organising something based on advice from the Bristol Social crew. I don't think we'd be able to fill a venue, however.

Perhaps we should all go to a vanilla cocktail bar in Oxford and be sure to wear something red...

The Oxford social was my first social ...about 5 years ago. Organized by a gent on fab and held in a pub not far from the bus station.

It was a great event,nice mix of folk and well attended...

I remember one or two of the commentators on this thread went...

I am unlikely to make it ...just adding morale support to anyone considering organising one ...

I thought it went ok, I was a bit pre- occupied trying to make sure people were OK and enjoying themselves, think I got the blend right? And I think people made new connections, also had some help from a couple of lovely ladies from fabs.

To answer some questions:

Q. How will I know who is/isn’t a swinger?

A. Go speak to people! If we say everyone wears or carries something specific, we risk outing everyone if a member of the unsuspecting public finds out. This way everyone can be as anonymous as they like. It also means we don’t look daft all wearing red or something like some weird cult lol.

Q. Who is this for?

A. Everyone. If you’d like to go to an event just for women/couples then create that event - I’d support this and totally come myself!

Q. Won’t it be a sausage fest/overrun with horny men?

A. Quite possibly, but I’m not going to police who can and can’t go to a pub. Everyone is an adult and responsible for their own safety and wellbeing. Just treat annoying horny men how you would on any other night at the pub.

Q. Where will be be in the pub?

A. I plan on getting there early and spreading out over a couple of tables (lol). Just hunt for a face you recognise and say hi!

Please remember before PMing me - this is not a date with me and this event does not guarantee anyone sex.

Be nice to each other if you can. Don’t be a twat. Be respectful of the bar and the staff - they don’t want to hear about your fisting exploits (or maybe they do, but check in first cos consent).
