Hi all

my wife and I shall be there from Friday, albeit staying in a cottage four miles outside of whitby....I'd have been kicked out of the goth club for not attending whitby when fields of the nephilim play!!

It'll be my wife's first time to whitby. I attended the festival back in 1996 and again in 2006. Can't wait!!

Unfortunately the council stopped overnight parking in campervans a couple of years ago. There is a campsite over by the boatyard on the south side of the river, or the campsite up near the Abbey maybe still open.

have stopped on a farm on cliff top but its a fair walk in to town and taxis can be a long wait at busy times,its only a small camper so may try and get on a back street

As far as we know, they used to allow overnight camping in campervans there, and at the far end of the co op carpark, but the council stopped it and now have wardens out on a night ticketing anything they think is being slept in..??

We will be there as usual ,in the camper with free parking In secret spot, if not it's only £35 fine for overnight parking if paid within 2 weeks cheeper than a campsite and no taxi .

Think there's something on at the whitby way, there's also an afternoon gig on Saturday up at the brewery and the met has a few bands on over the weekend, not sure if little a will have any bands on again..
