Manchester clubs & hotels

I am looking to visit the canal street / China town area of Manchester for 2 nights.

Can anyone recommend a tv friendly hotel, and also what the bars are like in these covid times? I’ve heard about places closing and being a bit dead so a tad worried I may have a wasted trip.

Looking to go around the sat 22nd/23rd of jan, or the weekend after x

Any recommendations would be fab x
