Christmas alone?

Jump to newest

I am single at the moment and I don’t have any family so Christmas is going to be a bit lonely this year. Ideally I would like to get away somewhere with company. If you’re in the same boat as me and would like to get away to a nice hotel or something similar or if you are alone and able to accommodate then send me a DM. I am able to travel anywhere within the UK.

To be fair I thought you might be making Santa some mince pies as your location is at the North Pole ??

I am alone for Christmas too this year. Feels a bit odd, but it is only a day. Some tv and some treats and before you know it, the day will pass x

The title of the OP makes it sound awful and harrowing. And yeah, it can be for some. But my last Christmas under lockdown weren't that bad, quite liked it.

I quite enjoyed it too but then I guess I knew I could call and chat to my family still. I was due to see them then the lockdown came in. So I decided I'd do Christmas for me - why should I miss out after all? Full English with Bucks Fizz in the morning then a complete Christmas dinner with all the trimmings and a lovely white wine. Had a Christmas pudding too. Then it was chilling out. Only downside was all the washing up

But for a few on here I know it won't be a good time. It is only one day though and after that normality will return. Make the most of it by concentrating on you and what you want to do - it's a great time to go for a long walk in the country as you'll barely see a soul. Stay strong.

Near Marlborough

My first Christmas alone after my divorce terrified me, so much so I booked an extravagant holiday to the Caribbean

But actually I don’t mind so much now. I’m at friends this year but will be home alone from 28th - 1st as my daughter is away with her dad. I can’t wait.

Vx

Yep, strange Xmas this year for me aswell, I do have my girls for half the day but 1st year not having them wake me up at silly o’clock, suppose I’m a lot better off than some people who will be totally alone so sending my love to anyone who needs it, Merry Xmas

Yh I’m alone this year also. My little girls having Christmas at her mums. This isn’t my first rodeo so I’m sure I’ll be fine, but for those who are struggling with loneliness this time of year I can imagine it’s awful. Keep your chins up and get yourself out there. Charity work round this time of the year is an honourable deed and if you’ve done it before you’ll know it’s very fulfilling and enjoyable, it will take your mind of your own problems and see a world of people with bigger ones.
