Good evening everyone , would it be possible to ask for some advice ? what is the best way to keep an conversation going ? when I’m out with someone I don’t always know what to say or what to talk about ? the thing is I really like this person and I know that women like a guy who can hold a good conversation, in my head I feel like a failure, I feel like crying because of how it’s making me feel . Any advice would be appreciated.

Before you meet this lady have a think about a few questions you could ask to keep things going. What's her favourite film, the best holiday she's ever been on, what kind of food does she like. Ask questions, be ready to contribute your answers to them too and answer any questions she asks with more than yes or no.

They like confidence to and yeah the more you stress over this the more awkward your going to become which is going to show and probably make her feel a tad uncomfortable ! It shouldn’t be a struggle

just relax and let the conversation flow and enjoy it

Something she says will spark an interest, a comment, a question. Simply listen, show you are listening and respond to what she says.

Very few people listen. Even fewer listen attentively.

Most everything someone else says will provide an opening for you to enquire more about it.

For instance, if she said "my favourite colour is blue"

You could say "is that blue like the sky or blue like the sea?"

That leads to convo about being on holiday under a blue sky at the edge of the deep blue sea.

A lot of this work starts prior going on the first date but the same principles apply.

Firstly, remember that you are looking for someone who is suitable for you (meaning ye are both suitable for each other).

So, what are some things that you are passionate about? What excites you? What could YOU spend hours talking about?

Before asking someone out on a date, try to identify someone who shares your passions and interests. This might mean changing where you try to meet women. Consider joining a club or a group that is centred around the shared interest.

If you meet someone who doesn't share the same interests, maintaining conversation will always be difficult. But, if you find yourself really attracted to their personality (not just looks) then you can try to identify what they are passionate about and be genuinely inquisitive.

In general:

Try to avoid lapsing into interview mode, where you just ask questions.

Make statements about issues you are interested in and give the other person the opportunity to respond. It's as much up to them to keep the conversation going. If they're not willing then they are not suitable for you.

Practice telling stories with emotion in them and ask your date about their feelings.

Maybe try to avoid dinner dates as a first date. Try doing an activity or grabbing a coffee and going for a walk. Here the activity is the focus of attention and conversation can happen more naturally. Things in the environment can become points of conversation.

And again, remember, if they can't keep the conversation going with you, then maybe they are not the right person for you.

Don't be afraid to let the conversation fall into a natural silence every so often, a small break from talking where you can just enjoy being with each other.
