Hi, any thoughts on how busy it might be this afternoon?

From what I've seen on here and driving past I'd say busy.

It was crazy yesterday. Cars everywhere, most with tickets from illegal parking.

We were in the area so thought we’d take a look but we’re surprised at the size of it, we had no idea and thought it would be reasonably easy to find the nude area so gave up.

Whereabouts do the nudists go, which area are we looking for please for when we’re back down?

If you keep walking on the beach away from the car park there is a green sign that tells when it’s the nudist part. I will be there Friday morning.

If you park in the road the path leads straight into the middle of the naturist section but that's where you risk tickets.

From the national trust knoll beach car park walk north. You will be able to see where it is because the beach is heaving there but gets reasonably spaced out as you walk north. Then as you will see it gets suddenly busy again where it starts. It's a good 1/4-1/2 mile.

From shell bay walk around the coast until you turn south, you'll see the sign. Small car park though.

I'm visiting Studland tomorrow with a non-Fab lady friend.

What is the best/ most polite way to deter guys from coming over?visit there some kind of secret signal?

She just wants to get an all over tan without hassle, she is quite innocent so it should be interesting to see what happens.

We'd say stay away from Dunes in that case as we saw nothing like that going on, on the main beach.

Stick to the family area ..away from the dunes and meerkats

Definitely stay on the beach.

Go to the left of the main path. You won’t get any trouble there. Bumbag might talk to you, but just tell him politely that you want some peace.

Stick to the main beach away from the dunes, lot's of couples and families in that area on both sides so plenty of space.

Similar question: what’s the story with after-hours skinny dipping. Is the beach/car park etc kept open after dark? (I’m trying to avoid thinking of the opening scene of Jaws as I write this…)

The beach is open 24/7. The car parks close I think at 8pm but they have those metal plates you can only drive over one way so you can leave anytime. They will eventually chuck you out though as there’s no overnight parking.

We were down there on Saturday and lots of cars on the road had tickets. I lost count as we were driving towards the ferry.

If people would just park legally it wouldn’t be a problem

Or arrive via a friendly boat owner

Do remember that many of the people there are not swingers

That said by the looks of those stood every 50m or so on top of the dunes I think a few definitely are liking for something

They are a bit like guards on a watch tower, my lady friend and I went for a walk in the dunes and they all rotated around and kept a keen eye on us.

I'm sure they had our welfare in mind?

The funny thing about the Meerkats is that they really don't think they get seen!

Not quite Jaws, but the SBS are just down the coast in Poole, they might be out for a wee swim.

Many years ago as a youngster a g/f and I were busy in the back seat when about 20 RMs surounded the car! It was the fastest retreat in my life. Thankfully a few miles later we were able to resume what had been interupted.
