I wouldn't worry about it. I don't have kids as my life didn't work out that way. I've no regrets but never felt the need to have them or not.

My sister was told at 20 that she couldn't have kids. Met a nice guy and married for 15 years before she went to the doctors with stomach ache. Turned out she was pregnant, they've turned their life around, are happy and I have a wonderful nephew.

If you meet a nice girl and settle down, then kids might come along, but don't let it bother you.

We took the decision not to have kids, I personally can not stand them and don’t have the patience to have one around the house, I got the snip 3 years ago.

I did wonder the same as you “what if I regret it” but someone pointed out it would be far better to regret that, than spend your life regretting you did have one..

I always grew up thinking I would have one, it was not till I got older that I realised that was only because of the expectations set by society. From an outsiders perspective the parents I work around spend a lot more time in the office moaning about their kids and the grief they bring than talking about the good times ...

We have no regrets about having had children but it is tough, heartbreaking and worrying. They will give you the proudest and happiest moments of your life too. They are a constant presence for at least 18 years, will cost you sleep and money and basically wear you out .

I think we would have been happy without children, we'd certainly have been better off but we'd do it all again.

Don't have children if you're undecided as someone else said better to regret not having them than saddle a child with regret that they exist.

I don't know how old you are but men have a much wider window of opportunity than women when it comes to this

All very good points, and thanks for your advice.

I really feel i wouldnt regret not having kids, i live an active life and always busy with work that i dont even know where i would find time for them.

They also require a lot of sacrifices which if im honest im too selfish to make!

It sounds like i have already made my decision, i just wanted to see if there wasanyone else that felt the same

I have wanted a kid, but now I wouldn't bring a kid into this world.

We have 2 kids .... both great kids compared to others kids we know of. You can almost tell the kids that will end up in prison .... always wanted kids and luckily i had them exactly as i had planned . Boy first 2/3 year gap and have a girl .... when people used to ask what do you want a boy or a girl .... my answer was always a happy and healthy baby .... because i never wanted that disappointed feeling ,when lets say i said "i want a boy" & it turned out to be a girl .... vice versa!!!

You cant plan your life

You can set a course, but your destination will always differ .

Enjoy what you have, dont dwell on what you dont!

Although i would say have them while your young for so many positive reasons .
