The Police have now finally admitted that they do not have any powers to enforce social distancing as social distancing are only guidelines and are not law. Funny, that is something that most people new, but not the police. Go figure.

Read the enforcement section , they can fine or even arrest you for dangering public health, they can interpret lack of social distancing as that if it’s a crowd

The Police have often said "Don't stand so close to me", usually with musical backing.

The police have been able to enforce it for a long time, the laws introduced to stop illegal raves and gatherings , they’ve always had to power to disperse people. The recent law change enabled them to do it for public health reasons. Nothing else has changed since the new law was introduced

M here

The police now have the powers to detain anyone suspected of having Covid19. It’s a joke, they can just state they heard you cough!

I know two people who have been needlessly stopped and one arrested and released without charge in the last few weeks; under the new guidelines and powers given to the Police due to Covid19.

The police are abusing powers, and they are not wearing correct PPE or providing for those brought into custody either!
