Great Barr

Heading to Phuket from 22nd March for 5 nights. Can anybody recommend a hotel which is near the action, is comfortable around 3 to 4 star quality and is convenient to a nice clean beach for swimming. A recommendation would be appreciated.

Would be happy to hear from fellow fabbers who will be there at the same time also. Thanks.

Am going to watch this thread closely as I'm thinking of going to Thailand later this year and would love to know more about the swinging scene out there.....if it exists

I stayed at The Nap hotel in December and it was good for me. Walk was about 10 mins to Bangla road and s few minutes down the street to the beach. Room was great pool was small in comparison to other hotels but staff were excellent

Millennium hotel is fantastic. I will be in Phuket around the same time, if you fancy a meet. Have a safe flight.

Xx.

Here now staying at the andaman beach suites, just around the corner from the nap hotel in a previous post, could be pretty expensive if you have left it this late to book accommodation as it's high season and coming up towards the Thai new year, but if you opt for this one you will find a bit of nice luxury ,10 min walk to Bangla road but lots of bars /restaurants before you get there and 2 mins walk to Kamala beach,

Last November we spent a week at The Kee Resort & Spa. Perfect location for Bangla Rd, the beach and entertainment, great pool area etc. Highly recommended, although they are certainly not giving it away.

Kee Resort wasn't good for me in 2015 as I paid them direct with "free cancellation" and had to revise my travel plans but Kee Resort never refubded the £800 booking fee

Hi I'd be interested in your views on the Andaman Beach Suites. The pool area there looked great when I was looking across from the Nap hotel external walkway to my room

We stayed at the amari on the edge of Patong. An oasis of calm but within 15/20 mins walk of Bangla road. We,would return there in a heartbeat.

Depends what you want. If you want quiet and deserted smazing beaches then Karon is gorgeous. If you want banging music loads of bars life at pace then Patong is your place. Bangla Rd is where it is at. Put it into you tube.

Andaman suites is spot on for everything you want, try to book as early as possible if you have a date in mind, you could save a lot of cash, also you need to be on at least 6th floor upwards for the proper sea view plus no mosquitoes at that height, pool area spot on and plenty beds with plenty shade to , if you were in the nap then you know your not far from anything you want

There's a place outside the andaman called Byrd lofts, had a look at one of the grand pool exit rooms,if you want top class luxury then this will take some beating, downside is you only have views of the side streets and it's very pricey

We stayed in the Deevana Plaza, about a 10 min walk to the bars and beach beautiful clean hotel with a great pool, only downside pool can be shaded in the afternoon, 18 nights B & B cost just under a £1000.00 right next to the Hooters Bar and Hard Rock Cafe. We would return to this hotel without question. Hope you find somewhere
