All depends where you want to be

We stay at Catarina a lot but only because of the location to nightlife and beach with no taxis involved

Xxx

Playa Del Ingles. It is the area of Maspalomas where most of the fun happens.

we can recommend the RIU Palace Maspalomas - the white fabulous hotel in the north end of the Dunes you see in the background in almost every picture from the dunes. In spite of the name its in Playa del Ingles. Lots of people walk from the hotel through the dunes to the beach at kiosk 4 - takes some 30 minutes. You pass people having fun there and you can stop and have fun when you go back. Taxis are cheap in GC - 5 Euro mostly wherever you want to go between Playa del Ingles and Maspalomas. We are going again in october. Just love the beach and the dunes.

Second the comment about the Riu Palace, staying there now.

First time at this hotel and it won't be our last!

Have stopped at the Lopesann by the lighthouse a few times that's good too.

It's a 5 min walk to the Cita, 30 mins across the dunes to kiosk 4 or an hour if you walk into town and back down the beach, the dunes can get a bit hot in more ways than one.
