CAP - a few unanswered questions

We've trawled the forums and have most of our (sex related) questions answered but here are a few we'd like some help with:

We are first timers heading out on 24th June and staying in a chalet on the campsite.

1. Do people bring their own beach umbrellas, are they 'provided', how do people manage shade on the beach when they need/want it?

2. Where is good to shop for groceries, fruits, salad stuff etc?

3. Any recommendations for places to eat? (Not JWs please)

4. Any recommendations for places to have coffee and people watch/watch the world go by? (Not JWs please)

1. There are shops in both Port Ambonne and Helios that sell beach umbrellas .

2. Both Helios and Port Ambonne Commercial centres have super markets . There is a large green grocers in Helios .

3 . You can see the various bars which sell coffee as you walk through these centres .

A fun and cheap place to eat is Pizza Flora in port Ambone. Its an experiece!! Great place for meeting people.

There's also 2 big hypermarkets not far away only 1 euro on the bus.

Great place for coffee and people watch are the 2 bars next to each other by the harbour.

Also great place to eat is the first restaurant on the block by Peng office good fresh food and reasonable

ok as above but here are some of our ideas:

1. Depends on your package, here you pay for anything which may be considered an extra - would assume if its not included you will be able to hire.

2. As above lots of pricey little shops dotted all over the place - if you have a car hyper u or inter marche are a few minutes away.

3. We like bagatelle - 3 course 22€, Joys in Port Soleil - buffet libertines, le boudoir Port Ambonne a libertines restaurant, le bistrot Port Nature - free entry into Le Juls. Maxine's in Port Ambonne do nice lunch for 12.90€

4. We would recommend Palmarie & pillouterie in Port. Ambonne both next to each other.

Thanks ok as above but here are some of our ideas:

1. Depends on your package, here you pay for anything which may be considered an extra - would assume if its not included you will be able to hire.

2, 3 and 4 as above.

We have used chalets on Oltra's site before and fairly sure they don't come with 'sunbrellas'....

Just buy some from Green Bazaar and sell them on to a new arrival. If you're lucky, you may even be able to buy some the same way...!!

2. Do not forget Lidl for your best value grocery items. Biggest one is other side of road to Hyper U. Also never go shopping on a Wednesday Afternoon. It is a school half day (normal caveats about term time apply)

4. We would also add 1664, and Le Missisipi to the list. They do a very nice coffee, and you can look at the terrace opposite.

3. As JW'S is a bar, it does not serve food. However, you could try wandering in and trying your best French out! Start with ' Garçon, ou est votre plat de jour aujoud'hui'

As mentioned. Casual drink watching the world go by...

PalmRe and pilotourie at the entrance to Port Ambonne. Also Cafe 1664 in Heliopololis. You won't miss any of them.

Can i walk in campsite evening time in sexy fetish outfit ?

yes you can wear sexy clothes on campsite, although you may get some "looks" from true naturists especially families! Sex on the beach happens, its not legal, if caught you will be arrested, but more likely to feature on xhamster!

We've been to cap five times and have only seen the police twice and never on the beach itself.

On both occasions they were on horseback and just watched from the dunes. After a while they probably had heard enough of the whistles and catcalls from the French guys on the beach and buggered off.

We too have never seen any one arrested for having sex on the couples beach.

The police have plenty of opportunity if they really wanted to, but the authorities are only too well aware that the sex scene is so important to the local economy. If they stopped the fun on the beach it would certainly lessen the appeal of the resort.

They occasionally patrol on horseback, but that's only to keep people off the dunes, which are designated as a nature reserve. They appear several times a year to make a point. Again, they just tell everyone to go back onto the beach, certainly not to arrest them.

Certainly it's an offence to have sex on the beach. But you have to remember that laws in France are only 'sugestions'. They can easily be ignored if it suits......

We've only ever seen one guy arrested from the beach and he was giving the officers no choice due to his refusal to accept their advice and move on.

So our advice is not to worry and just enjoy the ambience.

Be sensible and you'll have a great time....

Covert cameras in rucksacks are becoming popular. We've seen several guys being admonished by the other meerkats if they think that it's being filmed. They will physically remove the guy responsible.

Wear a hat, sunglasses and a wig and you'll be fine.....

About 10 years ago there was an attempt to enforce the law with the threat of €15000 fine. This was was abandoned when:

A. Punters moved into the sea.

B. CRS officers Speedo's became trophies for some of the ladies
