Flying to Budapest in 2 weeks on a Saturday. Will be going alone and have no plans for the night. What / where should I do?

Any suggestions?

It's a shithole - stay in your hotel - the most miserable people you'll ever meet (even in the bars) - alright seeing the Danube in the daytime - nighttime is utter crap - unless you want prostitutes with their pimps giving you the evil eye.

Eh?? Not my experience of the place at all

OP i thought it was a beautiful city, long wide tree lined boulevards and split perfectly in the middle by the Danube. I know its uber touristy, but if get the open top tour bus as a priority. It takes you to all the main attractions such as the castle (where the views over the city are amazing) and also to the large outdoors baths. If the weather is nice, you could all afternoon there if you wanted.

As for the nightlife, booze is cheap and some of the old ruin bars are pretty cool. It has to be said too, plenty of gorgeous women knocking around too and most speak english so get on in there.

I agree, beautiful city I've been 3 times in the last 12 months, ruins bars are a great night out and the local ladies are friendly and up for fun (not all hookers)

Gotta be careful which taxis you jump in as they can be a bit dodgy even ones which look official yellow ones. A lad I know got robbed while on a stag do

Tip is get them ordered by your hotel and then get their card for later on if needed. At airport go to official kiosk just outside on left hand side.

You'll love the place and the women are stunning.

Been there a number of times & cannot recognise that description at all.

Are you sure you are not confusing Budapest with somewhere else?
