Oil spill maspalomos

Anyone there at the moment?

Seen a few news reports of an oil spill near the island that has threatened the nearby beaches?

Due to go next week

Hopefully it's not too bad

Gran Canaria

Yes there was a ship sunk and the oil spill is at the moment further down the coast past Puerto de Mogañ the local news has not said how far the spill is expected to reach but Maspalomas is fine at present

It was a Russian Trawler which was towed out to 15km south of Maspalomas where it sank. The Spanish Government have a oil spill plan in place which is at its lowest level at present.
