we went in late june this year to cayo coco, great beaches and snorkelling, lots of French Canadians while we were there who only mix with each other and can be a little ignorant, the Cubans were great but don't get sucked into the poverty and low wage trap that they will try and have you believe

Are their wages high? How many cocktails can they buy with their monthly salary at your hotel?

as it happens the hotel had more Cuban guests than brits, and all the female staff had their nails done and lots had tattoos and hair extentions, if your on a basic communist wage then unless false nails and fancy hair comes in your ration book and a fortnight in a holiday complex is standard to all Cubans then yes, we and pretty much anyone else with their eyes open can see that the poverty may not be as bad as they would like the euro guests to believe, the Canadians sussed it years ago and if your daft enough to believe it then well done you guys for changing the world
