We were. Just got back. Had a very relaxing time but.... Just how depressing and neglected is that whole coastline these days? Unkept and poorly tendered local roads and pathways, shut down locales, bars and apartment complexes.

Its called The Crisis , my parents live in Garrucha 2 mins away from Vera and if you didn't know they had devastating floods a while back, have a look on Youtube at the damage that was done. Spain is still in a bad way economically so certain things don't take president and there is also the Mañana effect.

Was a terrible time the had here tbh I think they done a great job on the clear up was a lot of mess and devastation here .. Think it's looking good ..

We arrived less than 12 hrs after floods, never seen as much damage, mud and vehicles washed onto the beach, motorway bridge washed away, but the folk there still made us welcome. Think they have done great so far trying to get it back together.

Bit spooky I used to live in Vera (well on that bit of scrub land between Vera and the golf course ) ((mind been 6yrs)) now I live in Oxford and the OP has oxon in their handle ..

Mother past last year so actually I have a house in mojacar ( just behind the parke) I guess technically ...

Any way point was I went to Vera player; being a thoughtless little ginger , my bottom ( never seen the sun before ) peeled soooooo bad lol when I saw Vera in the thread list I winced a little.

Sorry I don't know why I've rambled all that off..
