heading to sofia mid oct for few days any advice would be helpful staying in the grand hotel sofia

Alot of the older people still shake their head and mean yes and nod for no. There is a nice market across the road from the Lion Hotel. Haggle always. Do not get into any taxi until you check the card on the window as the prices vary vastly. Don't get a taxi from anyone that approaches you as they are normally the expensive ones. Its best to get the hotel to give you a reputable taxi number. There's a couple of nice Chinese restaurants, a couple of sex shops, there was a lap dancing club. Be wary of beggars and ladies of the night. Keep your money close.
