Just been to 2x2 and been charged 10€ for 2 bottles of water. Small bottles at that! It says they are cheap on their website!!!! Have I just been penalised because I choose not to drink?! Irate....

Yes, we came across the 10€ thing in all the other places, however there were signs up or we were told when we ordered. In Secrets our drinks came to 9€ - a beer and a vodka and she said we'd need to buy something else - that's fair play, but to be charged 10€ for 2 waters? That isn't fair.

In that case - be up front and charge 10€ entrance. We only wanted to pop in and have a look around before going to meet some people and then come back later. We ended up not going back later because we'd have had to pay extortion for drinks again. If we'd paid an entrance then we could have come and go as we pleased and chosen how many drinks to purchase, much more fair in my opinion.

From our experience of 2x2 earlier this year, I'm sure if you had said that to the management they would have been fine with it.

However the 10 euro minimum is there to stop some people using the facilities of the club all night and spending nothing, as sadly some try to do.

Not many clubs has free enter ..for me 2 x2 club is an amazing club and owners very friendly . I would pay there 10 euro for 2 bottels of water and ll have no problem with that ..

The charges/rules are clearly displayed on the door prior to entering and are easily readable and from memory there are numerous price lists of all drinks on the bar and on the tables dotted around 2x2 so why should you be told?

Couples who enter the club before 23.00h the club offers happy hour, 4 drinks for the price of two! All drinks are between 2 euros and 8,50 euros. The 2x2 is not only the biggest club in Playa del Ingles but also the cheapest!

This is taken from there web site, we cant see anything about water costing 5 euros or anything about a 10 euro minimum spend.

For the record we left this club early for a similar reason and as far as we are concerned there are nicer more friendly clubs in Gran Canaria.

Thanks everyone. We're all for buying drinks a little more expensive than norm but we wont be taken the piss out of and €5 for a small water is exactly that. Think we'll try the rest the island has to offer.

No water on the price lists actually - I looked. And nothing to do with a minimum spend. I looked for this too as saw it on every other club. Why couldn't they have done what Secrets did and said "your drinks only come to however much, do you want something else too?". Not too much to ask in my opinion.

We thoroughly enjoyed 2x2 when we were there in March this year, and not for one second did we ever feel ripped off.

To anyone who thinks that entering a swinger club (even for one minute) for a tenner is expensive then God help you if you ever come to Germany or Holland.

We usually have to pay 60/70 euro (and sometimes more) entrance to the better clubs, and while it includes buffet and free bar there would be no refunds for a "bottle of water and a look around" I cannot believe anyone is moaning about what amounts to just over 8 quid.

Someone said 2x2 is the biggest club but I reckon secrets might be topping that one now as that's massive

We personally love them all for different reason regardless of drink prices and of course depends on the crowd....enjoy the hols guys

Of course the buffet and drinks are not free, neither is the use of the other facilities, but you have to pay up front whether or not you eat, drink, fuck, or go home after 10 minutes.

Even in the UK you have to pay 20 quid or more to go into a club and in most cases bring your own bottle.

Try some of the clubs in mainland Spain where you can expect to pay 50 euro entrance including one free drink apiece then have to pay a fiver (or more) for any further drinks (including water)

As for Cap d'Agde I just wouldn't bother going there if I were you, you would probably have a heart attack on day one.

2x2 is a swinger club, not a swinger bar and as such has playrooms, a dogging car (nice touch we thought) and supplies condoms in the rooms among other things. Do you think they should do all that then not charge an entry fee AND sell drinks at normal bar prices? Get real.

There are plenty of swinger friendly bars in the area (Comeback, Dreamtime, Bude 4, and Mieow among others) where a bottle of water would be a little cheaper, but don't expect much in the way of playrooms or try to give someone a blowjob on the Comeback terrace

Oh and the fact we enjoyed ourselves there and "not for one second did we ever feel ripped off" has a lot to do with the OP who is trying to say that 2x2 ripped them off.

Most of the water supply here is from desalinated water plants as there is very little rainfall here in the canaries compared to mainland spain and the rest of europe...hence our year round sunshine which makes the canaries one of the few places in the northern hemisphere for winter sun.

As a matter of interest how much would 2 bottles of water be in a club in Marbella.

*Facepalm*. We went to Secrets - we were told we had to spend 10€ - fine! We bought alcoholic drinks to total this amount. We went to 2x2 and were not told about a minimum spend, no signage and no water on the price list. We were only going to scout it out before we met some people later on therefore didn't want to spend a fortune twice as we'd be back later - I told the owner this as we entered. *If* she had told me there was a minimum spend, we would have just not gone in at all to have a look, just returned later and bought alcoholic drinks to get our money's worth. I'm not moaning about drinks costs - I'm moaning about the deception. €5 for a bottle of water IS a rip off. Either charge people to go in - which is an upfront way of charging people for what looked like great facilities, OR do what every other club managed to do and tell us about the minimum spend so we could get reasonable drinks for our money. I don't see why that would be so hard? We're all swingers, we share a common interest. Isn't it nice to be decent with each other?

Why mentioning free (or pre paid if you prefer) bar in the context I used it should be so contentious is beyond me, but hey ho if you want to hammer away at that one carry on.

As for clubs in UK, Germany, Holland, mainland Spain, or Cap d'Agde, I was using them as an illustration to highlight that 2x2 is a very good value for money club when compared to pretty much anything else we have seen. Maybe you can't see that, or maybe just don't want to.

Having been regulars at 2x2 for some years, I was not aware of a bar limit of 10Euros and I, personally, have not seen any signage. The first time we went, we were shown around by Chris and at no time, during that, were we asked to buy a drink. I have on occaision seen 'new' people come in and shown around and leave without buying a drink. As some regulars will know, when Chris & Katie are having a night off, he has someone run the club for him and when she lets you in, she is ready with her notepad to write down your drinks,so there is some pressure there. I wonder if it was her on duty that night, as if it was Chris, he would happily just show people around and then it would be their choice to buy a drink or leave. He should be making sure that she is aware of how he operates. However, I do agree that prices or entrance fees should be clear for all. The prices on the door only quote entrance prices. I've never seen anything about bar limits. So I can see both sides of this debate. Still a great club in our eyes!

I liked the club, it was great, I didn't like €5 for a bottle of water. I could have dealt with a vodka and diet for €5, closer to being fair. Interesting you say about the other people running it some nights. The girl was very slight with short hair, and yes, she had a notepad and took a drinks order immediately. I told her we weren't staying as we were meeting people and coming back later but she was very insistent. We went to Venus and spent €8 on a beer and a diet . They were lovely, we went back again and spent a lot more the second time. Honesty is all that is needed. Either tell me that I have to spend a certain amount so I can have something decent, or charge an entrance fee. €10 into a club is FINE by me, but parading two bottles of water at €10 and claiming the club is "cheap" as written on the website, is not. Thank you for a level headed reply, I would have liked to have gone back - loved the car, but quite honestly the attitude really annoyed me x

That definitely sounds like Outa,that's exactly what she does. I would have been surprised if it were Chris or Katie. We have had 1 or 2 issues when she has been on duty, but we always speak to Chris and they have been dealt with. As I said, Chris needs to make sure she is clear as to how the club is run in his absence, as he will be losing good custom. We had a bad experience at another club when we first went to GC, so we don't go there any more! I do hope you give it another go (along with the other clubs of course) as in our experience, it is a great club, with some sexy fun people going back time after time.

"We thoroughly enjoyed 2x2 when we were there in March this year, and not for one second did we ever feel ripped off.

To anyone who thinks that entering a swinger club (even for one minute) for a tenner is expensive then God help you if you ever come to Germany or Holland.

We usually have to pay 60/70 euro (and sometimes more) entrance to the better clubs, and while it includes buffet and free bar there would be no refunds for a "bottle of water and a look around" I cannot believe anyone is moaning about what amounts to just over 8 quid.

The fact that you 'thoroughly enjoyed yourself there' has not a lot to do with what the person opening this thread is complaining about, and as for paying 60/70 euros to enter clubs in Germany and Holland (well the mind boggles) your paying that amount to enter for the buffet and drinks which I might point out are not FREE you just paid 60/70 euros!

Point missed by a country mile.

Of course the buffet and drinks are not free, neither is the use of the other facilities, but you have to pay up front whether or not you eat, drink, fuck, or go home after 10 minutes.

Even in the UK you have to pay 20 quid or more to go into a club and in most cases bring your own bottle.

Try some of the clubs in mainland Spain where you can expect to pay 50 euro entrance including one free drink apiece then have to pay a fiver (or more) for any further drinks (including water)

As for Cap d'Agde I just wouldn't bother going there if I were you, you would probably have a heart attack on day one.

2x2 is a swinger club, not a swinger bar and as such has playrooms, a dogging car (nice touch we thought) and supplies condoms in the rooms among other things. Do you think they should do all that then not charge an entry fee AND sell drinks at normal bar prices? Get real.

There are plenty of swinger friendly bars in the area (Comeback, Dreamtime, Bude 4, and Mieow among others) where a bottle of water would be a little cheaper, but don't expect much in the way of playrooms or try to give someone a blowjob on the Comeback terrace

Oh and the fact we enjoyed ourselves there and "not for one second did we ever feel ripped off" has a lot to do with the OP who is trying to say that 2x2 ripped them off.

It was you that said the bar was free not anybody else, as for Cap d'Agde well we were there again this weekend had a great time but again what that has to do with the opening thread I do not know, the Op has never said they were ripped off the only one who has said that is you unless of course you also claim to be mind readers!

We've been to 2x2 many times and at no time have we ever felt ripped off. A sharp contrast from many times departing the come back bar or other places where the desire to sell you another drink puts more static in the air than the sexual tension that should predominate. Other than the trek away from Cita we'd go there as first choice everytime.

but its not just the first drink thats 10 its every drink we dont drink so had diet and every time we went it was 10 for two small and i mean small bottles was cheaper to have a pint of beer sorry but thats not right we go to chams every week pay the entrance and then pay about £ 1. 20 a drink easy

At least now this discussion has helped to let lots of people know about there way of charging.

It seems they let you in for free but you have to pay to leave.

lots of nice clubs in GC now, some you have to pay to enter some you don't.

We havnt come across any other clubs apart from 2x2 that charge 10 euros for 2 small bottles of water though.

Yes, the motive is that £4.40 for a bottle of water is extortion and I want about €6 of my €10 back! Also to find out if this is normal - regulars to the club have said that it is, so question answered and I know where I stand if I chose to go back next time.

I would say it is better if you drink spirits. We both drink Bacardi & Coke which are 7 euros each and we are normally in by 11pm (happy hour), so we are getting 4 drinks for 14 euros, which I think is very reasonable for a club like that. All clubs should be very clear on their pricing and as I've said, we had a similar experience at another club some years ago and have chosen not to go back again.

We are both none drinkers, we were in 2x2 the same night and had 1 drink of water each to the tune of ten euro, HOWEVER, we have also been in there for a longer period and consumed 3 bottles of water each to the tune of ten euro, We have no issue with paying this price for same, its a decent club, clean and Chris is a doll. We did however have friends with us on the same night in question and they also had 1 alcoholic drink each and were charged €17.50, . They had never been before, there was no information parted to them re pricing , entry or otherwise, it was Chris that took them around , we were not aware there was a different pricing for the minimum charge and our friends were outraged rightly so, they were ill informed and ripped off....

We have just come away from 2x2 having never been to this island never mind this club we were met by cris who couldn't do enough for us

the place was really busy with what we could see were old and new people

we ggot there just after 11 so happy hour was still on. We both had two drinks and was still only charged a fiver come on were in in the uk would you get that

After reading this thread we went to 2x2 not sure what to expect a sign on the door clearly stated minimum charge 10 euro Chris was a great host showing us round introduced us to others. Lots of ppl there making use of playrooms and bar. As we arrived during happy hour our bill was 5 euro. Looking fwd to going again this week. Wld recommend. Alison

Read the opening thread, they didn't know in advance that's the point had they known they wouldn't have gone in, but once in they had to pay 10 euros for water (in there case ) before they could

leave.
