Hi,

If you are going to Vabail you are best to pre book in advance, we failed to do this and it was fully booked during our time there. We ended up going to a vanilla (still a naturist spa) called Liquidrom in the city centre. It was a nice relaxing couple of hours but you need to bear in mind it is very vanilla.

We did a few touristy things and during the day ended up in Murphy’s Irish bar near checkpoint Charlie and Kilkennys Irish bar as they seemed to be busy and had some atmosphere in the afternoons. Plenty of authentic German bars and restaurants too which served great food. We tended to eat in the local German restaurants rather than chain type ones.

We ended up in Insomnia on the Saturday evening. You need to bear in mind that this club isn’t like the UK ones, it’s very diverse with 50% representation from the LGBTQ communities with a large portion of this gay men. Before anyone says anything negative, this isn’t an issue for us in any way but we would prefer the crowd to be more male/ female coupe based as the male half whilst comfortable around other guys is straight and it’s just to let others know.

The club is very techno music based and if you’re a non smoker like us it was a little off putting as they allow smoking inside the club and not just in the designated areas but all over!

There was plenty of playing going on but we only played between ourselves in the couples part as we didn’t see another couple that took our fancy but that’s subjective and was just our choice on the night. There were a couple of moments where men had to be told more than a couple of times no but in the end they listened.

We still had a good night but we wouldn’t be in a rush to go back!

We didn’t go to Kit Kat so can’t comment but plenty of people had good things to say about the place!
