Erotic Cinema is a chain of establishments in NL - a very small chain now that the Hilversum operation has shut down, leaving only Amersfoort and Arnhem. We dropped by the Arnhem Erotic Cinema a couple of weeks ago, and the website suggests that Amersfoort is similar.
There’s an adult store on the ground floor, smart, clean, loads of goodies for sale. Nothing shady or seedy about it. At the counter the salesman explained the cinema rules: free for couples, €17 for single men; locker needs €0.50 *per opening* and he gave change; towels available for €2 each, and you can keep them after if you want.
Upstairs, after negotiating the lockers, we had a look around. There are two cinema rooms, straight and gay, each with about ten comfy cinema seats in pairs, and a bed along one side. The films looked fairly up-to-date. Gloryholes at the back of the straight cinema. Along the corridor is a fairly big playroom with a substantial bed, seating, more gloryholes, and a curtained-off dungeon area. There’s a shower behind a window at one end of the playroom, though we didn’t spot how to get to it.
We were there in the afternoon, midweek - they don’t open very late - and in maybe 90 minutes there were three other couples in plus maybe half a dozen single men. The other couples were not particularly shy, but we didn’t see any swapping, just a healthy dose of voyeurism. There was one guy slinking about and hesitantly trying for a grope, but he stopped when asked. We spoke to another bi guy and entertained each other.
Opening hours and images are online. If you’re in Arnhem or Amersfoort then we’d recommend them. You won’t find anything like it in Amsterdam any more, sadly. |
