In Thailand, medical services for foreigners are “private” – we have to pay. So buying medical insurance may be wise.

If you get sick, ask at Reception in your hotel for directions to the nearest pharmacy.

The pharmacy near your tourist hotel will have an English-speaking employee. You will be sold treatment or advised to go to the nearest doctor or hospital, as appropriate. Your taxi driver will be given instructions if necessary.

The hospitals in popular tourist areas are far superior to our sad NHS ones.

Ambulance services are provided by sundry independent private companies, which have to be paid separately.

I have written an 8-page newbies guide to the Bangkok red light district. You may find something interesting in it. Let me know if you would like a copy.

Always eat in places with high turnover to ensure the food is not old..

711 have charcoal pills in case you get runny..

But just enjoy, not as bad it might seem

They only illegal thing we are getting involved with will be vaping lol. As far as there being Russians in Phuket, it's not gonna effect our holiday I'm sure. And to be fair, some Russians are hot lol

Strange how you think it’s ok us Brits to come and live in Thailand but Russians shouldn’t be welcome here. Sense of British entitlement I guess. Let’s get back to Imperial past . I think if you strayed further than your soi, you would find that the The Land of Smiles is ill at ease with any disrespect and law breaking from visitors. It would be interesting to know your solution to the problems you allege given the TAT are actively encouraging Russian Tourism even sending delegates to Moscow and St Petersburg to promote Thailand, as is the Thai Govt by introducing bi lateral visa exemptions with Russia. Having lived here nearly 20 years it is clear 90% of the problems are endemic caused largely by official corruption and local/ national mafias. Maybe you are blind to it on your gulf island paradise.
