Berlin new years eve

My partner and I will be visiting Berlin from 31st December until 2nd January and we are looking for fun things to do and open to the idea of meeting some people from the lifestyle while we are exploring the city.

Lots of clubs to try on Berlin which are amazing.

KitKat is an obvious one, it's fun and has very much an underground German techno vibe.

Insomnia is a great, traditional sex club. Massive ceilings it's a nice venue. Some nights have a large price on entry (€75 for a couple I think) and drinks apart from champagne and cocktails are all included.

Berghain and Tresor are the two big clubs if you're into German techno with a slice of sex and kink. Never been personally as didn't want to queue for ages for Berghain to be turned away! You'll find a lot of the underground clubs have a dark room even if they're not specifically for sex. This is the case with Tresor, and apparently Berghain.

There is a large gay village with lots of clubs and shops. If you try Mister B's shop they can usually give some recommendations about possible places to go. You'll find the scene very LGBTQ focused but straight couples are also very welcome.

100% get a Railcard for the times you're there. The S-bahn and U-bahn run with massive efficiency and you won't need to use taxis at all really. There is a night bus replacement for when the trains stop running and you can get a train straight out of Berlin airport into the centre.

In terms of where you're staying I'd recommend the East side. Everything is so much cheaper there and as you head more into West Berlin it's much more expensive and tourist focused. We stayed in the East as it's closer for the clubs we wanted to go to.

It's an amazing, hedonistic place. I've said I'd consider moving there once our children are grown. Don't be put off by the amount of graffiti on the walls in the East as this seems to be a big theme. The people are really accommodating and so friendly.

Lots of good clubs ...of all varieties ..sign up to joyclub ...a great app, swinging, kink and social ..and you can get discounts on entry prices.

The events section of the app is comprehensive and a great way of seeing what's on.

The Railcard is indeed great value , depending on how long your going for ..49 euros for all public transport across Germany (not high speed intercity).

I used rental e bikes a lot (it was summer) great way to explore. Maybe not in winter ..

The kater bleau (blue cat) club is a cool music venue ..in a kind of mini camden market sort of place on the river , Holz market .

We will keep all this in mind! Kit kat is the club that we have always wanted to visit but as it's new year's eve we are not sure if it will be too busy!

The rail card sounds great! Hopefully the trains will be running on new year's Day haha

Hi x we are going on December 30th for 5 nights to see in the NY. Where did you get your railcard from please? Can we pre purchase on an app so easy when we land? Exactly as you say, we would like one night at one of the clubs but realistically will be the Thursday as we fly home Saturday morning so Friday is out really. And would love a night in a friendly naughty bar. We are staying at the Crowne nr the park so no idea if that is a good location? Xx

I got mine by downloading the DB (Deutsch bahn) ap...you have to set up a standing order but you can pay for just a month if you cancel it straight away. If your just staying in Berlin , ask at the ticket office at any main terminus they may have other variants of travel card just for the city ..

If you sign up to joyclub , a very good German , swinging , kink dating ap ...it has a great events section with maps of the club locations and a diary of events ...and you can post meets etc and chat to folk...you can also get discounts on club entries

I just got back from Berlin. You can get your welcome card from the tourist information in Brandenburg airport. If your going from terminal 2 to terminal 1 to catch the train. It's just on the left as you walk into terminal 1. Avarus , Insomnia Temple Oasis and Kit Kat are the clubs to check out. Vibali is a great naturist Sauna !! Liquid rom is cool too. Lots of German markets dotted around. As H Jones says get yourselves on Joyclub and check out the events.
