Hedonism, Negril, Jamaica - Our Experience

Worksop (visiting)

Hi all.

These are only our opinions. If you are going/have been you may have a totally different experience than us. Peace to all. I’m not having a go at anybody. Just trying to help other fabbers.

We went in 2022. We found all staff to be absolutely brilliant. It’s their job. They don’t care that you are naked/semi naked. They are all very professional.

The price is exceptionally high for what you get. The drinks and food are spot on too. We have been to PDI, CAP, Mexico and in our opinion, Hedonism is the most expensive. In our opinion we would say that those who go to Hedonism looking for guaranteed ‘fun’ may well leave a little disappointed. Of course, everyone knows what ‘kind’ of place Hedonism is but you have to take into account that there are many ‘naturists’ who attend Hedonism who have no intention of ‘playing’. Of course, we had some ‘fun’, but We met a lot of lovely couples who told us they never have and never will ‘swing’ but they love to play together in the open in private. I’m not sure if we were fortunate or unfortunate but when we went to Hedonism the whole of the ‘site’ was booked out for an American Swingers group called ‘Dirty Pigs’ (or similar). They were all polite, genuine and lovely but they took over the whole site. Arranged games, meeting points etc. they all wore the same T-Shirts, flags on their balconies etc. None of them were rude or disrespectful but when you have an organised group of over 1,000 people who have arranged to meet it is almost impossible to make friends. The friends we made were mainly South Americans who didn’t swing and who (bizarrely) wanted to know about Brexit. Every event, game etc was catered to the huge American group. Saying that, if it was my business I would rather make 1,000 people happy than a couple. I’m at pains to say… everyone we met was lovely and we never saw an angry face, but please don’t go thinking that ‘play’ is ‘guaranteed’

Brilliant post, thank you.

I’m looking to go to Negril in November. We’ve never been to hedonist before but was looking at staying nearby hotel. You’ve give a really good idea what to expect.

Hmmmm, we are frequent visitors to Hedo and have had a different experience.

There are 280 apartments at Hedo, so rarely more than 500 people which includes couples and singles. They can't accommodate 1000 people.

No hotel is going to guarantee 'fun'. For that you need sex workers and that's not the vibe at Hedo. And lots of people just want to be naked and accepted, they don't want to have sex with others. Many people don't even do naked, and there's provision for that too.

The first time we went, we were simply overwhelmed, but now we understand and 'get' it.

There are lots of groups who go to the resort. These groups

are often aimed at people with different outlooks or preferences. Some are suitable for younger people, some for older, some for Afro-American etc. Our advice is to check the group schedules and speak with the resort or group booking staff who are great and the experts. We've chosen to travel with The Rascals lately because the dates work for us and they're a friendly group. Nuts, but friendly!

And yes, it's expensive. But the staff are well-paid, their families are cared for, the resort is immaculate and the entertainment, food and drink are excellent. We walk in after a 4 or 6 month absence and the bar staff remember our favourite drinks and Winston the entertainment manager and the staff remember our names. Harry the owner says welcome back and the staff say 'Welcome Home'...

Sorry, when I said 1,000 I was just generalising. I don’t know how many it holds. I don’t dispute anything you have said, I was was merely giving our opinion to help others.

St Albans

We have also been to Hedo, around 12 times in total over a 15 year period. We have found that the time of the visit makes a big difference. We now always choose to go in January, which is probably one of the busiest. There will be groups there but also lots of couples and singles that aren’t part of the groups. It’s expensive yes but great fun!
