Do any of the DUBAI residents here have experience going to Turkey on the cheap flight where you do a self transfer in KSA?

I have a UK passport and a golden Visa for Dubai, I’m getting really mixed messages about the need for a transit Visa or a stopover Visa, Visa on arrival or tourist Visa. Airlines will not help I just said to check if you need a Visa
