Oktoberfest in Munich

We are going to Oktoberfest this year.

Has anyone on here been before?

Any tips and suggestions would be great.

Just got back from it myself, great fun. Few tips would be

If you can get the traditional wear, Germans will definitely give a few looks if you’re wearing regular clothes

The mas (litre of beer) is like 14/15 euro a go and you have to get one of the beer maids to deliver it to you, some tents that means table service so try get a table if you can

If you’re a smoker it can be pretty annoying because everytime you go to the biergarten you have to queue to go back in after

If you dont have reservations for a table be there early.

Use the station 'Hackerbrücke' instead of 'Theresienwiese' it'll be less busy (which means it'll still be very busy) and gets you there just the same

Leave big bags at the hotel
