Just booked a holiday to Egypt just wandering if anyone else is going or any advice on what to go and do there? xx

You can get money changed in the hotels. They prefer dollars and best to get $1 bills for tipping. Always be polite and tip and they will look after you.

The old town can be pushy so be firm. Learn some words and phrases and they will appreciate it. Wear respectful clothing at meal times and outside of the resort.

Take antihistamines. Buy their version of Imodium from a local pharmacy as ours will not work.

Everything is washed in bottled water, do not drink from the tap.

Buy a 4g sim card from one of the vendors out side arrivals.

I got 13gb ( it advertises 25gb but only lasted 13) Vodafone card for £10 and the seller configured my settings for me.

I should be okay for travel to Egypt I pay so much extra a month to be able to use my phone in certain countries just need to check if Egypt is included I'm pretty sure it is thank you though! I'll keep this in mind!

Deoends on phone provider. I had to buy minutes and texts. Data was ridiculously expensive

Living in Middle East

Hi we head over on March 30th for 18 days. Will be out 6th time in Hurghada and we love it. We live in Middle East so do t get as much hassles as we know some words. All the previous tips are accurate. If you want t shirts or bags then be prepared to haggle. I find mail g friends with the trader in hotel is best as they are not allowed to be pushy. You may pay a little more but worth it. Get down to the Marina and the mosque. Be aware of trips as some are a rip off.

It hadnt got a swinging scene to be honest unless you meet people over then on holiday. There were mostly welsh and english in our block.

Paradise island is an amazing trip, loads of great places at the marina, Oscar the camel is there is you fancy a ride. Download the uber app for cheap cabs. My friend has a English bar on the marina which attracts lots of English tourists. We take a private speedboat out to dolphin house which is amazing, then fit some snorkeling in. Dunno what hotel you are using? Our personal preference is jaz Aquaviva

I'd definitely recommend a trip to Valley Of The Kings.

I preferred it to The Pyramids.
