I'm _ooking at Feb for a couple of months, so possibly will be there.

I usually go alone but I stay away from the Tourist kind of places and the seedy stuff, I tend to head to the mountains or the quieter islands.

It's a great place to go alone because there is always many others there alone (Men and Women) I'm not very outgoing but always end up with people and have a great time.

Happy to offer any advice on places to go or itinerary etc... drop me a message

But yeah if im there would be happy to meet up for some drinks or a bit of sight seeing.

In Thailand, cannabis (ganja marijuana and hemp) was removed from the narcotics list in June - it was de-criminalized. Politicians are still haggling over a bill to regulate its use and sale.

The Ministry of Public Health has issued a guide entitled “10 Things Tourists Need to Know about Cannabis in Thailand” to improve visitors’ understanding about what they currently can and cannot do with cannabis in the country.

The main points for tourists are:

1. Carrying seeds or parts of cannabis plants from and to Thailand for personal purposes is not permitted.

2. Individuals under 20 years old, pregnant women and breastfeeding women are not eligible to use cannabis except under the supervision of health professionals.

3. Possession of extracts containing more than 0.2% tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and synthetic THC requires permission.

4. Dishes containing cannabis are available in authorised restaurants.

5. Approved cannabis health products are accessible through specific channels.

6. Smoking cannabis in public spaces, including schools and shopping malls, is illegal.

7. Avoid driving after consuming food or health products containing cannabis.

The other three points are about cultivation, research and a heath warning.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) has formally notified all parties that international travellers aged 18 and over who land in Thailand from 1am local time on Monday 9th January must comply with new Covid-19 regulations.

Airlines will be responsible for checking before boarding that travellers have proof of full Covid-19 vaccination, or a letter certifying that they have recovered from Covid-19 infections no more than six months prior. Unvaccinated travellers must have proof of why they cannot receive a vaccine.

Details of the approved vaccines and required number of doses are available on the CAAT website.

The government today (Monday 9th) rescinded the policy announced on Thursday 5th that required tourists to show proof of full Covid-19 vaccination, or a letter certifying that they have recovered from Covid-19 infections no more than six months prior. Unvaccinated travellers must have proof of why they cannot receive a vaccine.

All tourists will be now be granted entry without restriction.

But authorities still require foreigners to show they have health insurance covering treatment for the disease if their next destination is a country requiring a negative pre-entry Covid-19 test.

The airlines were responsible for checking tourists’ Covid statuses in the countries of departure – no cert, no fly!

It’s all about the expected Chinese tourist influx into Thailand from today. If it causes a serious increase in Covid cases in Thailand, the Covid entry restrictions could be re-imposed at equally short notice.

Could be a good idea to get hold of a set of certificates just in case. Getting stopped at the airport departure check-in counter wouldn’t be a lot of fun.

Swinging is actually illegal in Thailand, but it does go on! There are however some nudist resorts. There are 2 in Pattaya, Chan Resort and the Dragonfly. Know there are others in other areas, check out the Naturist Association Thailand website. Not sure if any play goes on though!

The Public Health Minister has stated that free Covid-19 tests are available to tourists who are ill on arrival.

Arriving visitors who will be travelling from Thailand to countries that require them to show proof that they are Covid-free, will need to have health insurance coverage of at least US$10,000. This is to cover their possible treatment costs if they test positive while in Thailand. Tourists are able to buy this insurance on entering the country, if necessary. They are also able to buy Covid vaccinations at “reasonable prices”.

Pattaya is a great lovely city. Especially Walking Street and Soi 9. Which are full of Gogo bars.

The second week of February is the huge Burapa Bikers Festival. It's a 3 day/night festival with thousands of bikers, rock bands and stalls. Although it's run by 1% biker clubs, there is never any trouble. Definitely worth experiencing.

The Thai National Health Security Office has prepared almost 100 million condoms for distribution free, with lubricating gel, to holders of 30-baht universal healthcare cards who are of reproductive age in 2023.

Each card-holder will be entitled to 10 condoms per week.

The condoms will be available in four sizes - 49, 52, 54 and 56 millimetres (that’s 1.93, 2.05, 2.13 and 2.20 inches). I’m not sure if these are the lengths, diameters, or circumferences.

If you’re about averagely well-blessed, it could be a good idea to take your condoms with you!

"Apparently swinging is illegal.......So is prostitution, but..."

Thai society is male-dominated, like the vast majority of societies around the world.

Wives are “owned” as in MY wife. And you don’t want to interfere with another man’s property, do you? The anti-swinging law is enforced.

On the other hand, daughters are “above” animals, but “below” sons. Most Thais live in poverty, so a blind eye is turned to the fact that a daughter is a “waitress” in a big city.

Thai laws about prostitution are similar to the English ones. The “age of consent” is 18. Prostitution – paying for sex - is perfectly legal. Soliciting on the streets isn’t – you have to speak to her first. Brothels are illegal – the bars charge you rent for their rooms, and are in no way interested in what you pay the girls.

Thailand is a fascinating country, and not at all what it appears to be to us so-called “civilised” people!

I've written a 7-page newbies’ guide to the Bangkok red light district which you will find useful. I will send you a copy if you unblock messages from single men, or let me know your email address.

Spend three days and nights in:

Bangkok – the capital with lots of cultural sites

Pattaya – a tourist seaside resort on the Andaman Sea coast

Chiang Mai – cool off in the northern hills and visit more cultural sites

Phuket – a very popular tourist island off the Andaman Sea coast

Koh Tao – a quieter island on the other side, off the Gulf Of Thailand coast.

This itinerary will help you to make up your minds about where to stay for the last week of your holiday (and subsequent ones!).

There’s no need to book anything in advance because the tourist high season is over.

Exactly 30 days til we leave for Thailand! This is finally going to happen! After canceling last year because of the Cov d situation and entry restrictions at the time. We are finally going to Krabi, Phi Phi and Phuket. Getting our asses on the beach and drink in the hand!

Hopefully we can find a longtail boat driver that will let us get naked on his boat and tan or find a quiet spot to snorkel naked. How much extra is that going to cost us? LOL

Fingers crossed!

The Thai Department of Disease Control has warned people to guard against the spread of dengue fever after 2,683 cases were reported during the month of January, with one fatality.

The causative virus is spread by bites from female striped mosquitoes (of the Aedes genus) during the rainy season.

The available vaccine is recommended only for people who have already recovered from an infection, so avoidance of bites is the only protection. Spray insecticides indoors, sleep under nets and wear thick clothing around the neck, arms and legs when outside around dawn and dusk.

The Thai cabinet has approved a B300 fee for international air arrivals and B150 for others, starting in June. Visitors who do not stay overnight will be exempt.

The expected 3.9 billion baht received this year will, of course, be used mainly for bribery and corruption. But some of it may be used to provide health and accident insurance coverage for tourists. Another part is supposed to help fund the development of local tourist attractions (lol).

The fee will be added to air ticket prices, unlike the previous airport tax, which had to be paid in cash by tourists on departure.

It has not been decided yet how they are going to receive the 300 hundred bhat as there are so many people that are exempt from paying it
