Best place to stay is probably Lido/Sao Martinho

Very good hotels and close to city center

- food lots of places. Traditional Portuguese, sushi or the good fancy restaurants next to the Savoy Palace.

- old town is perfect for a wander.

- plenty of hikes and levadas.

- you will need to rent a car to visit the rest of the island its stunning.

Let me know when you arrive i can recommend places.

I would definitely recommend a visit, if you like a small place where you can really engage with local history and culture.

You get the most of it if you're into outdoor activities - hiking, snorkelling, diving ect

"Anyone there mid August "

We are there from 12th to 22nd August.

Any good local bars for a chance of a hook-up?
