Whatever happened to last minute package bargains?

We're going to Torremolinos on Monday 9th, for family reasons (operation) we couldn't book in until last monday from Jet2 at £1248 for both of us. The day before we booked it was £1216, the day before that £1188. We phoned Jet2, explained we'd travelled with them 4 times in last 12 months asking if they could knock the increase down a bit. They said they couldn't as they only had one room left at our hotel, so.. However, they must have found some more rooms as the same flight, same hotel, same everything is today advertised at £1412.

So last minute deals now increase, not decrease in price???? S'truth!!
